The first title to launch the Weekly World News IP-driven studio slate of movie projects is The Zombie Wedding, and Freestyle Digital Media has set a September release date for the romantic horror-comedy. Additionally, they’ve provided us with the exclusive trailer reveal.

Freestyle has scheduled a limited theatrical and VOD release date of September 13, 2024.

On September 13, there will be also be special Friday the 13th screening of The Zombie Wedding in New York City at the rock club/lounge The Cutting Room.

Right before he blew up the bridge back in his final episode from the flagship series, a fatally-injured Rick Grimes uttered “I found them” before he was thrust into the chaos of the Civic Republic Military and stolen from his children’s lives for years. Three seasons and six jam-packed, spin-off episodes later, Rick has indeed finally found them, and the long journey of a sheriff from Atlanta faced with the end of the world has reached its conclusion.

“The Last Time” kicks off with a beautiful dynamic shot passing over a table filled with the remnants of an intensive planning session and candlelit dinner. Michonne and Rick are romantically enjoying the eve before their bold attack on the Civic Republic Military. Above all, “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” has up-held its commitment to being a romance set within the zombie apocalypse.

The penultimate episode of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live was the most shocking episode of the series to date, culminating with Jadis’ (Pollyanna McIntosh) death.

As the former leader of the hostile Junkyardigans and an ally to both the Ricktatorship and the Saviors, she’s been a character constantly out for one person: herself. Always seeking a better deal, always working to ensure the survival of herself and her community, Jadis has become something of a convert to the ways of the Crm. She seems like a real true believer, but any fan of The Walking Dead knows that she might talk the talk and walk the walk, but her motivations are known only to herself.

The Walking Dead giveth, The Walking Dead taketh. In its penultimate hour, the Rick and Michonne-centric The Ones Who Live reintroduced one of the mothership series’ most enduring figures: Father Gabriel, the once-cowardly preacher turned warrior-leader of Alexandria, played by Seth Gilliam.

In the same breath, the spinoff also removed one of the franchise’s other most enduring figures from the board: Jadis, aka Anne, aka Jadis Stokes of the Crm, played by Pollyanna McIntosh. The MTV series Teen Wolf – which was loosely inspired by the 1985 comedy film Teen Wolf (watch our Awfully Good video on that movie Here) – wrapped up its six season run back in 2017, and back in January it got a feature film follow-up on the Paramount+ streaming service. (Read our review of Teen Wolf: The Movie at This Link.) Now Paramount+ is hoping that movie is going to rack up multiple Primetime Emmy Awards nominations.

Variety reports that the streaming service has submitted Teen Wolf: The Movie for Emmys consideration in the following categories: Outstanding Television Movie, Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (Tyler Posey), Directing (Russell Mulcahy), Writing, Prosthetic Makeup and Original Music and Lyrics (“Lemon” by Tyler Posey).

Since Posey was also a producer on the film, Variety notes that these submissions give him three chances to earn an Emmy nod.

Actor Lance Reddick, who appeared in major TV series like ‘The Wire’, ‘Fringe’ and ‘Bosch’ and films like the ‘John Wick’ franchise, which is set to debut ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ next week, died of natural causes aged 60.

Variety has confirmed with his representative.

He was found dead at his Studio City home in Los Angeles on Friday morning, according to TMZ, which first reported the news.

In the upcoming ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’, which is set to release in theatres on March 24, Reddick reprises his role as Charon, the concierge at the Continental Hotel in New York City who appeared in all four entries.

Charon worked alongside Keanu Reeves’ un-retired hitman, notably looking after John’s new dog in the second installment and joining in on the gun-toting action in the third movie. Reddick was also slated to appear in the upcoming ‘Ballerina’ spinoff, starring Ana de Armas.

The former — a film revival of the beloved 2011 young-adult supernatural series that reunites a majority of the cast, including stars Tyler Posey and Tyler Hoechlin — broke the streamer’s record for the most-watched original move in the first day of its debut.

The latter, which stars and is executive produced by Sarah Michelle Gellar, marked the platform’s most-viewed YA show since the “iCarly” reboot, making it the No. 2 YA series premiere overall in its first 24 hours.

Universal Monsters Bobbleheads from Neca

Neca will add four Universal Monsters to its Head Knockers line of bobbleheads in August. Priced at 34.99, Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Dracula, and The Wolf Man are made of hand-painted resin and stand 8″ tall.

The sculpts are pretty fun on these, although I’m not sure why the necks are comically long when Neca’s other bobbleheads don’t have that issue. The prototypes are pictured, so maybe they’ll iron that out before production.

Fans of Teen Wolf were given an almighty treat during Brazil's Comic Con Xperience (Ccxp) on Sunday.

Oh, and there was even a treat for potential fans of Wolf Pack, the new series from the Jeff Davis, the creator of Teen Wolf.

Both Teen Wolf and Wolf Pack are set to premiere Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023 exclusively on the service in the U.S. and Canada.

The film, written and produced by Jeff Davis, will premiere the following day on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023 on Paramount+ in the U.K. and Australia.

In Latin America and Brazil, the film will be available early next year. Premiere dates for other Paramount+ international markets will be announced at a later date.

Eleven years ago, Jeff Davis took the basic concept of the 1985 comedy film Teen Wolf (watch our Awfully Good video on that movie Here) and turned it into a supernatural teen drama series for MTV. The show ran for six seasons, wrapping up in 2017. Five years later, much of the show’s cast has been brought back together for the Teen Wolf franchise’s return to the world of feature films, a project appropriately titled Teen Wolf: The Movie. The new movie is going to be released through the Paramount+ streaming service on January 26th, and today they unveiled a poster for it. You can take a look at the poster at the bottom of this article.

Directed by Russell Mulcahy from a script written by Jeff Davis, Teen Wolf: The Movie has the following synopsis:

A full moon rises in Beacon Hills, and with it a terrifying evil has emerged.

Paramount+ is bringing the Teen Wolf franchise back to life with both Teen Wolf: The Movie and spinoff series “Wolf Pack,” and they’re both premiering on January 26, 2023.

Teen Wolf: The Movie is a feature film based on the television series, and the pack is back on the official poster that Paramount+ just debuted this afternoon. Check it out below.

In Teen Wolf: The Movie, written and produced by Jeff Davis, a full moon rises in Beacon Hills and with it a terrifying evil has emerged. The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of banshees, werecoyotes, hellhounds, kitsunes and every other shapeshifter in the night.

The lead Walking Dead actor whose character was killed off in the last ever episode requested their fate, it has emerged.

On Sunday (20 November), the series finale of the long-running AMC zombie drama was broadcast, and featured a showdown, returning characters and some teases of future spin-offs.

While the final seasons, its 11th, has been low on deaths of main characters, the show had one final tragic twist up its sleeve.

Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) watched on in horror as Rosita (Christian Serratos) fell into a horde of walkers – but breathed huge sighs of relief after she broke away, using her weapon to kill the undead surrounding her.

Over a decade after its initial premiere in October 2010, AMCs “The Walking Dead” has reached its ultimate conclusion. “Rest In Peace” marked not only the last episode of the mega-sized 11th season, but the final episode of the entire flagship series. While there are a plethora of spin-offs featuring fan-favorite characters on the horizon, “Rest In Peace” closed a chapter on the core ensemble’s long fight for survival.

With dozens of recurring characters, actors juggling other filming commitments, losing its lead character, showrunner shifts, and the occasional controversial moment, finding a way to resolve the longest-running zombie television series seemed like an impossible feat. Despite all the odds, showrunner Angela Kang managed to overcome the show’s typical hiccups for an exceptionally rewarding, and emotional send-off.

It’s hard to talk about “The Walking Dead” without talking about death. It built its reputation as a show where anyone could be killed off, and indeed, it turned over roughly a third of its cast every season in its early years.

It’s been a long time since death truly drove the story forward. With multiple spinoffs on the horizon, the show struggled throughout its final season to retain the suspense of the series’ salad days, when seemingly anyone could die at any time. If Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) are all slated to star in new series, any time their lives are purportedly in danger, the dramatic tension of whether or not they’ll make it out alive has been cut off at the knees.

When the band is touring, the expectation is that the fans will politely sit through two or three new songs and bide their time until it’s time to play the hits. When you get past the record store and the ice cream stand, there are some serious issues in The Commonwealth. Even before you start digging deeper than surface level, the inequalities in terms of food access, housing, and healthcare are obvious. In the world of The Walking Dead, with unlimited available housing in various stages of repair, there’s no real reason to cram all of your community’s newcomers into dormitories. There’s no reason children should be forced to clamp on headphones to block out the sound of the family next door having a party.

"The Wire" co-creator David Simon often compares the show to a modern Greek tragedy, going so far as to reimagine mythic Gods moved into intractable American institutions. Capitalism, drug dealing, policing, politics, education, and the media are all examined in great detail, giving you a full picture of why the characters are helpless, and fundamentally incapable of changing anything beyond, maybe, their personal situations.

The series is set in Baltimore, which occasionally gave it some difficulties due to the bleak urban picture it painted, but as co-creator Ed Burns said, "we could've taken that show into any city." Burns and Simon just had decades of life and experience in Baltimore from which to draw.

The “Teen Wolf” movie has a premiere date!

The anticipated film, which members of the original cast, will drop Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023 on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada, it was announced Friday at New York Comic Con. It will be available on the streaming service the following day on Friday, Jan. 27 in the U.K., Latin America and Australia.

Release dates for other international territories will be announced later.
