Jerry Foster is perhaps best known as one-half of the infamous songwriting team of Foster & Rice, the most awarded songwriting team in the history of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Association International Hall of Fame and the North American Country Music Association International Hall of Fame.
He had his own television show on WSAV-TV in Georgia and began his recording career as an artist in Houston, Texas, on Backbeat Records. He had his 30-minute country music show on KFVS-TV. The Foster and Rice team was signed to a publishing contract with Jack Clement and Bill Hall (Jack & Bill) where they became known as "The Song Factory" for their incredible string of hits. Jerry recorded for Mercury, Metromedia, SUN, Motown's Hitsville label, Monument and Cinnamon. Jerry toured Europe, as a result of his number one single in Europe, with Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Marty Robbins, Don Williams, Kris Kristofferson, Jeannie C. Riley and others.
Jerry is an actor and has been featured in numerous films, television shows, videos, and commercials. Most notably in Disney's Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus), as Carrie Underwood's Grandfather in "Temporary Home", as a doctor in the full length feature film "Civil Brand", and as the preacher who baptized Stephen Baldwin in the Trace Adkins "Muddy Water" video. He has appeared in fifteen feature films, and on major television shows, special projects, and guest appearances. He knows so many people in the business, has written number 1 and top 10 hits for major artists, that securing those artists for any project is a piece of cake. As a famous country ARTIST, actor, and award-winning songwriter, his background naturally lends itself to television and film development as a Creator and Executive Producer of quality TV and streaming programming. He owns Foster & Rice.
