- George Forrest and Robert Wright were writing partners for 72 years. Their collaboration on such indelible favorites as "Stranger In Paradise", "Night Of My Nights", "Sands Of Time", "Baubles, Bangles And Beads" and "And This Is My Beloved" from the 1953 Tony Award winning, Broadway musical "Kismet" and the 1978 Broadway musical revival "Timbuktu!" are remembered best today. Altogether, the pair wrote over 2,000 songs for the Broadway stage and motion pictures. At 13, he partnered with Robert Wright as a team, contracting to MGM Studios for seven years. His Broadway stage scores include "Song of Norway" (based on Grieg), "Kismet" (Borodin), "Magdalena" (Villa Lobos), "Kean", and "Anya" (Rachmaninoff). He joined ASCAP in 1939, and his other musical collaborators included Walter Donaldson and Rudolf Friml.
