Hristo Dinev(I)

Hristo Hristov Dinev is a Bulgarian dramatic artist , representative of realistic acting school. Dinev was born in 1900 in large village Patele , Lerin region, Macedonia, then in the Ottoman Empire, today in Greece. He emigrated to Bulgaria and from 1919 to 1921 was singing in the choir of the Varna Theatre. He had played in various theaters in Bulgaria - from 1921 to 1926 in Varna , from 1926 to 1927 in Plovdiv , from 1927 to 1934 again in Varna, from 1934 to 1935 in Ruse , from 1937 to 1938 in Burgas and from 1938 to 1942 again in Varna. After the liberation of most of Vardar Macedonia in April 1941 Dinev had played in Bulgarian Theater in Skopje (1942-1943). From 1952 to 1957 he had worked in Boyana Film Studios. Among the more famous his roles are Strandzhata in " Outcasts " by Vazov; Zlatil in "Boryana" by Jovkov; Marko Petrovic in " At the Foot of Vitosha Mountain " by Yavorov and others. Dinev cooperated with the magazine " Bulgaran " and is the author of humorous stories and the theatrical memoir "A Journey by Land and Water" (1971). Dinev is the father of famous actress Katia Dineva . Hristo Dinev died on February 21, 1977 in Varna, Bulgaria.
