Molly Harrison (Myndy Crist) is not exactly a “regular” mom. And that’s not just because she’s a mortician. She hasn’t left the house since her husband Peter (Jo Koy) died three years ago of a freak accident on her birthday. Now, on Molly’s fortieth birthday, her daughter Sam and mother, Ivy, present her with tickets to Moscow, hoping a trip just might finally be the thing to help get her out of the house. Modern horror is a little light on big names but one who should certainly be bigger is Jason Blum. He’s not exactly a household name but a man who almost single-handed seems to be responsible for virtually all the theatrically released horror content of the last few years, a man who can count the Paranormal Activity films, the Insidious (soon to be) franchise, last year’s well received Sinister and even Barry Levinson’s eco-horror The Bay among his successes. While not all of his films hit (the forthcoming Lords of Salem appears to have attained anti-buzz for instance), he still seems to be a man who takes horror seriously and seems to see it as much as a legitimate genre as...

Any '80s throwback worth its salt needs to leave the door open to a sequel. And Jacob Gentry's My Super Psycho Sweet 16 did just that. Whether you caught the film on MTV or not is moot, because Gentry and writers Jed Elinoff and Scott Alan Thomas have begun production on My Super Psycho Sweet 16: Part 2 . Lauren McKnight reprises her role as Skye and is also joined by Chris Zylka, Matt Angel, Myndy Crist, Alex Van and Gina Rodriguez. Shooting is taking place in Atlanta and continues the story of psychopath Charlie Rotter who, in the first film, turned a sweet 16 bash at a Rollerdome into a bloodbath.
