Cristiano Bortone is an award-winning producer, writer, director known for Rosso come il cielo (2006), Caffè (2016) and Marina (2013). His latest film is Il mio posto è qui (2024) directed with his wife, novelist Daniela Porto. He is the founder of the Italian production company Orisa Produzioni, and the Chinese one Yiyi pictures dedicated to local Chinese films and co productions. Since 2013 he has been the Managing director of the Euro-Asian producers association Bridging the dragon. He's been the initiator of several film activities and has taught at international film institutions, such as the Beijing Film Academy.
