Details are scarce, but Variety says the project focuses on Dwayne (Kadeem Hardison) and Whitney’s (Jasmine Guy) daughter. The cast of A Different World has reunited for a national tour of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). During a stop in Washington, D.C., hosted by Howard University, they appeared at the White House to meet Vice President Kamala Harris and Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
The Grio’s April Ryan shared a portion of the White House visit on Instagram, which included Jean-Pierre leading the cast in a sing-along of the show’s theme.
The group opted for the version featured throughout the majority of the sitcom’s run, sung in the original version by Aretha Franklin.

Al Jarreau, a seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer, died Sunday at a Los Angeles hospital. He was 76.
According to a statement from his manager Joe Gordon published by Ebony magazine, the singer was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his passing.
His loved ones asked that in lieu of flowers or gifts, donations be made the Wisconsin Foundation for School Music, an organization that supports music opportunities, teachers, and scholarships for students in Milwaukee and throughout Wisconsin.
Last week, updates on Jarreau’s Twitter account announced he had entered a hospital for exhaustion and was forced to retire from touring “with complete sorrow.

Called "Far From Finished," the special will are on Nov. 24. Bell, Judi Marmel, Robert Hartmann and Stu Schreiberg are executive producing.
Cosby's last special was "Bill Cosby: Himself." It was released in 1983. The years have been kind on Cosby, and it will be interesting to see how this special differs from its predecessor considering how much Cosby's life has changed in the past three decades.

There is apparently no end to the type of reality shows that the networks can cook up -- as evidenced by a new reality show that Fox has cooking -- "Househusbands of Hollywood."
Celebrity News Service has learned that Fox has ordered nine hour-long episodes of "Househusbands of Hollywood," and the show will premiere next August. The show will follow several stay-at-home spouses of successful Los Angeles women.
Several of the stay-at-home guys that will be featured on the reality show include former "A Different World's" Darryl M. Bell, the husband of Tempestt Bledsoe, former Los Angeles Dodger Billy Ashley and Grant Reynolds, husband of Jillian Barberie.
Fox is describing the show as "an amusing, poignant and fascinating look at a world that has not been covered yet in reality."...

The network has ordered nine hours of "Househusbands of Hollywood," which follows a collection of stay-at-home spouses of successful L.A. women.
The cast includes Tempestt Bledsoe ("The Cosby Show") and husband Darryl M. Bell ("A Different World"), Jillian Reynolds (formerly Barberie, from "Good Day La") and her husband Grant and former Los Angeles Dodger Billy Ashley, among others.
The project produced by Marilyn Wilson Prods. represents a different kind of reality show for the cable channel, which is dominated by off-network acquisitions, original competition series and the occasional docudrama.
"Househusbands," set to bow in August, falls into an ensemble soap category that's provided ample fruit for such high-profile cable players as Bravo, VH1 and E!
"We believe 'Househusbands' could be a breakthrough for us," said Bob Boden, Fox Reality senior vp programming.

Ryan in talks to star in CBS' 'Sudbury' pilot
Jeri Ryan is in final negotiations to star opposite Kim Delaney in CBS' drama pilot Sudbury. Meanwhile, Carmine Giovinazzo has been tapped as one of the leads in the CBS series CSI: New York. Jeffrey Nordling, Henry Winkler and Darryl M.
