Anders was originally scheduled to direct Bastard Out of Carolina (1996)
for Showtime Cable TV. She resigned from the project, however,
and the film was eventually directed by Anjelica Huston.
Was inspired to become a filmmaker after seeing the work of Wim Wenders.
Was member of the dramatic jury at the Sundance Film Festival in
1994.
