Note: This story contains spoilers from “Shrinking” Season 2, Episode 4.
“Shrinking” star Luke Tennie says the explosively physical scene in Episode 4between Jimmy (Jason Segel) and Sean (Tennie) was a moment production and ultimately viewers knew would happen sooner than later, adding that he conjured up the momentum in that scene from a casting note he received when he first auditioned for the role.
“It’s a moment we knew was coming because we hadn’t really seen it,” Tennie told TheWrap in an interview. “We saw Sean snap in Episode 1, Season 1, to protect somebody. We never really saw Sean just lose it without a real understanding of what the catalyst was. So it was exciting, but most of the prep came from really just digging into the birth of Sean for me.”

“I did not expect to have career renaissance in my mid-50s,” says Spin City, Scrubs and Cougar Town creator/co-creator Bill Lawrence, who has four series: Apple TV+’s Shrinking and Bad Monkey, an upcoming HBO comedy starring Steve Carell, as well as Jason Sudeikis’ Apple TV+ phenom Ted Lasso which has been plotting a Season 4 return.
Add to that the long-rumored reboot of his NBC/ABC medical comedy Scrubs. In Part 1 of Deadline’s interview with Lawrence, he speaks about the Season 1 finale of Bad Monkey and teases a likely second season. Here, Lawrence addresses the status of the Scrubs revival and the prospect of more Ted Lasso as well his new series with Carell and its connection to Bad Monkey.

Meghan McCain opened herself up to some mockery on Monday after she complained that she doesn’t know when she’ll get access to a Covid-19 vaccine.
The comments, which came during the same “The View” segment where she called for Dr. Anthony Fauci to be fired, started with a point we’ll concede is somewhat fair to bring up: That in her view, it’s a problem that messaging from U.S. officials seems to suggest that even with the vaccine people won’t be able to resume normal life for a long, long time. After a clip during which Dr. Anthony Fauci wouldn’t make any kind of specific recommendation about what people can do after getting vaccinated, McCain compared that to Israel where, she said, people are being told if they get the vaccine they can resume normal life.

“Dancing With the Stars” alum Sean Spicer got absolutely roasted Thursday on Twitter after making a joke about Joe Biden — and his dance moves were the first target in the line of fire.
Trump’s former White House Press Secretary took a cheap shot at Biden ahead of Thursday night’s final presidential debate, writing: “Breaking: Debate Commission grants Biden campaign two nap breaks and allows Harris to sub in.”
Unfortunately for Spicer, the Twitterverse was much more amused by resurfaced photos of the infamous neon green ruffle shirt he wore on “DWTS” than it was with his anti-Biden joke.
“Dude, we saw you dance,” wrote “24” actor James P. Morrison. “You have no legs to stand on here.”
“Scrubs” actor Bob Clendenin contributed this zinger: “You’re one step away from doing ‘Couples Therapy’ on Bravo.”
Another user posted a gif of Spicer playing the bongos in his neon-green outfit,...

Five seasons in, "Cougar Town" has officially settled into its formulaic groove - for better or worse.
During its Season 5 premiere on Tuesday (Jan. 7), its second season on new network TBS, fans of the Cul-de-Sac Crew got exactly what they've come to expect: A goofy mixture of jokes of the long-running inside and meta varieties, with a final act that exhibits some actual emotion and sentiment. And while that formula has proven a winning one for the last four seasons, it all feels a little hollow here.
The A-story, which follows Courteney Cox's Jules as she struggles to accept Travis (Dan Byrd) and Laurie's (Busy Philipps) new relationship, goes through the usual motions. There's the requisite creepy comments from Jules regarding, oh you know, her son, which goes so far as to actually have her (accidentally) touch a part of his body that kicks that Oedipal thing into hyperdrive.

The Hulu original series, "Quick Draw," is a half-hour procedural comedy set in the Old West. It has, however, something of a modern sensibility to it. In this exclusive clip from Monday's upcoming episode, we see that sensibility in a video for a "whiskey support group for not drinking whiskey."
Part of episode 5 -- available on Hulu starting on Monday (Aug. 26) -- the clip shows what happens when the good citizens of Great Bend, Kansas gather together for what they thought was a group for drinking whiskey. Alas, it seems that the Alcoholics Anonymous model isn't such a hit with the men (and woman) of the frontier.

Sneak Peek footage, images and synopsis, from the new 'Old West' comedy series "Quick Draw", starring writer, actor John Lehr as 'John Henry Hoyle', a new sheriff in the 1875 Kansas town of 'Great Bend', premiering August 5, 2013 on Hulu.
Not since TV's "F Troop" and Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles" has there been an attempt at a film parody of the 'cowboy' genre, as Lehr satirizes "Deadwood" with the forensic procedures of "CSI":
"...a 'Harvard' graduate who studied forensic science, as well as being a remarkably good shot, 'Sheriff Hoyle' (Lehr) is also kind of a dummy, in a hilarious way.
"Joined by a cast of characters that includes 'Deputy Eli Brocias' (Nicholas Brown), a madam/saloon-owner named 'Honey Shaw' (Allison Dunbar), and a hodgepodge of colorful locals, outlaws, and ladies of the night, Sheriff Hoyle is tasked with bringing law and order to 'Great Bend'...

Soon after Zach Braff’s Wish I Was Here reached its funding goal on Kickstarter, and even before the project was officially funded, Anna Kendrick was one of the first cast members added alongside Braff’s leading character, set to star as a Cosplay enthusiast / love interest for Braff’s brother, played by Josh Gad.
Now Braff has taken to Kickstarter to tell his pledges that Kendrick’s schedule unfortunately conflicts with the film’s shooting dates, thus forcing her to exit the project.
But he has good news as well, announcing that Ashley Greene has come on board in her place.
Perhaps best known for her role as Alice Cullen in The Twilight Saga, Braff notes that he’s known Greene for a couple of years now, emphasising that she’s every bit as hilarious as she is talented and beautiful, which is naturally encouraging with her character being a Cosplayer.

The show, which is moving from ABC to TBS, has cast Ali Wentworth as a love interest for Tom. Wentworth tweeted a picture of herself on set on Monday (Aug. 27), and she also filmed her web series "Daily Shot" from downtown Gulfhaven, with "Cougar Town" star Busy Philipps as the guest.
Wentworth (who's married to "Good Morning America" anchor George Stephanopoulos) co-created and starred in "Head Case" for Starz and is maybe best known for playing Jerry's girlfriend in "The Soup Nazi" episode of "Seinfeld." She was also a frequent guest on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and was in the cast of "In Living Color" for several seasons in the early '90s.

The actress has not appeared on television since Head Case in 2009. No word yet on how many episodes she'll stick around for, but Wentworth Tweeted the following photo of herself on set this week:

Cougar Town is about to be invaded by a whole lotta Scrubs alumni, and we’ve got your first look at the gang (minus Zach Braff) reunited on the cul-de-sac.
Sarah Chalke is already in the midst of her arc as Bobby’s gal pal when the big episode, titled “A One Story Town,” airs March 13. In it, Ken Jenkins reprises his role of Jules’ dad, Sam Lloyd’s Ted passes through town with his musical group, The Peons, and Robert “The Todd” Maschio drops by as… The Todd?! (See the green cut-off shirt and flamed bandana-looking thing for proof.

So you may know how the third-season premiere of "Cougar Town" ended: with Grayson proposing to Jules in the most romantic Tp'ing ever.
But the journey is at least as important as the endpoint on this show. So even if you watched the preview video and read all the stories about its return, chances are you still may have found a lot to enjoy about "Ain't Love Strange." We know we did. In fact, as we watched, we came up with a dozen reasons to be glad "Cougar Town" is back on the air.
1. The proposal, obviously. It's not so much that Jules is predictable (although she is) as that Grayson knows her really, really well, and uses that knowledge to set up a lovely, sweet proposal that fits all of Jules' criteria. And yeah, the toilet paper actually did give the empty house's front yard a slightly fairy tale-like quality.

As a special treat for fans and new viewers, Cougar Town returns on Valentine’s Day with an especially fun episode that will make romantics at-heart swoon. The entire episode (aptly entitled “Ain’t Love Strange”) is a love letter. It is a warm-hearted ode to the fans that have watched for the prior two seasons, and an enticing invitation to new viewers to check out a show that has been saddled with a misleading moniker.
The running joke for the past two years has been to poke fun at the title of the show. Contrary to its name, the show offers a lively look at a charming group of friends who have become a family over the course of their lifetime adventures and who have welcomed a few more lonely neighbors and co-workers into their lives. While divorces tend to drive people away, the divorce of Jules and Bobby...

Why are Jules, Laurie and neighbor Tom huddled under a tree at night, dressed in black? You'll see when "Cougar Town" (finally) premieres on Valentine's Day.
We can tell you that they're on a secret mission, sparked by Grayson (Josh Hopkins) calling Jules (Courteney Cox) "predictable." We can also tell you there's toilet paper involved, and that Tom (Bob Clendenin) is more a part of the cul-de-sac crew in the show's third season -- although he's not really a full-fledged member of the group yet. Laurie (Busy Philipps), of course, is up for anything.
We can't really tell you, however, why Grayson is dressed as a police officer in this photo, since we don't want to spoil things.
And we mentioned there's a lot of toilet paper, right?
The Season 3 premiere also checks in on Travis (Dan Byrd), who's back at college and sharing a house with a bunch of guys,...

It was only a matter of time before Sarah Chalke made her way on to the set of Cougar Town. Having starred in the Bill Lawrence created Scrubs for eight years; it makes sense that Lawrence would use her in his newest series. Chalke should feel right at home among series stars Courtney Cox and Christa Miller, both of whom appeared on Scrubs (Miller also happens to be Lawrence’s real life wife). Now what exactly will Chalke be doing once she arrives in Cougar Town?
According to TVLine, Chalke plays a photography professor at Travis’ (Dan Byrd) college whose name is Angie. She’ll appear in multiple episodes as a love interest for Bobby (Brian Van Holt). Angie is described as being of natural beauty and has a cool vibe. She’ll meet Bobby through Travis, and fingers crossed that Travis doesn’t have a weird student crush on her.

After a painfully long ten-week hiatus, ABC's hit comedy Cougar Town airs at a special time tonight, immediately after Dancing With The Stars at 9:30/8:30c, before it returns to its regular post-Modern Family time slot with a second new episode on Wednesday.
To those who have yet to watch, or who perhaps bailed on it during it's first few episodes, now is the perfect time to start watching Cougar Town.
Admittedly, the unfortunate title has confused some folks as to what the show is all about, and early episodes did focus on Jules getting back into the dating scene with a couple of fellows who were just slightly older than her son.
Since then, however, the show switched gears and has become a very funny story about a group of adults who have developed an unconventional family dynamic and like to drink wine. A lot.

This April Fool's Sony's Crackle is debuting Jailbait, an improvised comedy web series starring John Lehr (Cavemen, Ten Items or Less). In this fish-out-of-water story, Lehr plays Ozzie, a naive perpetual optimist who is serving nine months in prison after accidentally buying drugs in a sting operation. Jailbait also stars Bob Clendenin (Cougar Town), Tim Bagley ($#*! My Day Says), Kirk Ward, Evie Peck, Sandra Vergara and Michael Bailey Smith, and was created, written, and executive produced by John Lehr and Nancy Hower (the team behind TBS’ Ten Items or Less) and co-executive produced by Keith Raskin. "Jailbait is another unrestrained, hysterical comedy from Crackle that goes to places most television networks won’t,” said Eric Berger, Senior Vice President, Digital Networks for Sony Pictures Television. “John and Nancy’s no holds barred approach to comedy is sure to resonate with our viewers.” From Crackle's press release: The show chronicles Ozzie...

"The Closer" returns for the final five episodes of Season 6 on Monday night (Dec. 6). Star and recent Emmy winner Kyra Sedgwick tells Zap2it what viewers can look forward to, which includes her character Brenda continuing to explore her solitude.
"The unintentional theme of this year is the issue of her solitude, her aloneness," says Sedgwick. "She continues to be alone in the decisons that she makes and people continue to not agree with her. The whole Chief issue resulted in her feeling very alone in the world. I think that the loneliness was an unintentional theme of the year, but it really has emerged as a theme."
The Chief of Police issue was resolved before the hiatus, but it certainly isn't going to be completely smooth sailing with Courtney B. Vance's Tommy Delk as the new chief, especially regarding the fate of Assistant Chief for Operations Will Pope...

Chicago – The largely improvised “10 Items or Less” returns for a third trip to the grocery store on Tuesday, January 6th, 2009 on TBS with what looks like another hit-and-miss season of occasionally inspired humor surrounded by generally boring characters in an overall mediocre show.
More “Sorta Funny” than the one-time TBS slogan of “Very Funny,” “10 Items or Less” is a reasonable diversion, a series that has more chuckles than some of the lackluster comedies on television this season but never delivers on the potential displayed by its talented star, John Lehr. Like an improvisational troupe with only one real star, every time that Lehr leaves the screen, the show falls apart.
Even without his favorite turkey, Leslie still continues bowling
