Liam Neeson is starring in the reboot of Naked Gun. He has been out promoting the upcoming movie and had nothing but good things to say about his co-star in the film, Pamela Anderson. In a recent interview, Neeson even said he was “madly in love with Anderson.”
Here is what you need to know about Neeson, Anderson, and their upcoming Naked Gun movie.

Elvis Presley was a major source of inspiration for John Lennon. He, like many other artists in his generation, heard “Heartbreak Hotel” and felt as if his life had changed. When he was a famous musician in his own right, Elvis agreed to meet with the band. While The Beatles walked away from the meeting feeling slightly disappointed, Elvis reportedly began to foster a simmering hatred toward Lennon.
Elvis Presley resented something John Lennon said when they met
In 1965, The Beatles finally had the opportunity to meet Elvis. They drove to Graceland and spent the night playing music with Elvis. Journalist Chris Hutchins said Lennon had long been asking him to set up the meeting, but things went awry between him and Elvis almost immediately.

"Well – I'm gonna have to do it sooner or later, so might as well get on with it, baby..." Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for an upcoming music history documentary called Return of the King: The Fall & Rise of Elvis Presley, set for streaming in November this fall. They don't specify if it is one feature-length film or a doc mini-series. Return of the King chronicles the life of Elvis but, in particular, tells the sotry of his 1968 Comeback Special that aired on NBC and marked his return to live music after 7 years focused on his rather mediocre acting career. "He had one chance to show the world he was still the King of Rock 'n' Roll." Apparently it is approved by his estate because Graceland posted about it, too. With appearances by Bruce Springsteen, Conan O'Brien, Billy Corgan, Darlene Love, even his ex-wife, Priscilla Presley, and Elvis movie director Baz Luhrmann.

Lisa Marie Presley’s memoir From Here to the Great Unknown is a raw and unfiltered look at her life growing up as the only daughter of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley. Here are three explosive revelations about life with her mother, Priscilla Presley.
Lisa Marie Presley called herself Priscilla Presley’s ‘trophy’
In her memoir From Here to the Great Unknown, Lisa Marie Presley called herself Priscilla Presley’s “trophy.” Lisa Marie claimed that her mother’s wishes for her were dramatically different from what she wanted.
For example, Lisa said Priscilla sent her to a pricey French school with other celebrity kids because Priscilla was dating someone French and was “obsessed” with the culture. Furthermore, Priscilla wanted Lisa Marie to go to a finishing school where she would be taught social skills, etiquette, and cultural refinement to prepare her for high society or professional life.

The life of Elvis Presley has been immortalized in film multiple times in recent years, including in Elvis (2022) and Priscilla (2023). Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s only child, Lisa Marie, was mostly absent from the narrative, given that she was still a child when Elvis died.

When Elvis Presley died in 1977, his young daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, was staying with him at Graceland. Lisa Marie herself said she had been able to tell for several years that her father’s health was declining. She reportedly had an even stronger sense that something was wrong on the last night she saw Elvis. Her daughter, Riley Keough, recounted the sense of unease her mother felt on the last night of Elvis’ life.

However sad you are expecting “From Here to the Great Unknown: A Memoir” will be, take heed: it’s sadder than that. This new volume, started by Lisa Marie Presley before her 2022 death and completed recently by daughter Riley Keough, falls squarely into the realm of autobio-tragedy — bracingly looking at how depression and addiction issues repeat themselves generationally, with almost none of the sentimentalized overlay you might expect a book of this kind to impose. “I wondered how many times a heart can break,” Keough writes near the end. As a reader, you may have already been keeping some kind of mental score.
It’s a lot. But it’s not a slog: “From Here to the Great Unknown” is engrossing from start to finish. The fact that it remains that constantly absorbing maybe comes against some odds, since the emotional trajectory of Lisa Marie’s life is never much in doubt…...

Graceland was Elvis Presley‘s family residence. Therefore, when it was decided to open the home to the public, choices were made regarding what rooms would be accessible and which would not. The Presley family agreed early on that the upstairs rooms of Graceland were off-limits. So what would happen if a visitor tried to sneak upstairs to the king’s suite of rooms?
What happens if someone tries to sneak upstairs at Graceland?
Once the decision was made to open Elvis Presley’s Graceland home to the public, it was determined what rooms fans would be able to view. While he was alive, Elvis rarely let anyone upstairs. It was his private domain.
Therefore, when Graceland became a museum of Elvis’ life, that tradition continued with a tiny alteration. As Elvis died in the bathroom upstairs, the area was sealed off from fans so fans wouldn’t focus on that space.

The Florida lawyer accused of conspiring with memorabilia auctioneer Brigitte Kruse to defraud Priscilla Presley out of more than $1 million in an alleged elder abuse scheme is breaking her silence to claim she never violated her duty to the author, actress, and ex-wife of Elvis Presley.
In new court filings obtained by Rolling Stone, lawyer Lynn Walker Wright says she “vehemently denies” duping Presley into signing a stack of legal documents that Presley alleges were so “unconscionable” and damaging to her financial interests, they’re legally “unenforceable.” Walker Wright admits...

Elvis Presley’s ex-wife and heirs have spent decades hounded by public fascination and scrutiny. Members of an American folklore dynasty, they share a mythology that’s seemingly unstoppable. Not only did it inspire two recent prestige films from directors Baz Luhrmann and Sofia Coppola, but the films were critical hits that in turn generated legions of curious new fans. When Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis and ex-wife Priscilla Presley, died suddenly in January 2023 at the age of 54, the storied family was once again thrust into the spotlight.

Fun fact: did you know that Michael Jackson was once married to Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley? No, well, they were barely married so maybe that’s why that chapter of their lives is not so well known.
However, at the time, their surprise marriage and quick divorce made headlines around the world. Decades later, Priscilla Presley is sharing her two cents on the marriage.
Priscilla Presley Doesn’t Believe Michael Jackson Married Her Daughter Because He Loved Her
Elvis Presley’s fame still burns bright to this very day even though he died at a young age, and while Michael Jackson is undoubtedly one of the biggest performers in history, Priscilla Presley still believes he was awed by Elvis Presley’s name and wanted to be associated with it.

It’s been nearly 50 years since Elvis Presley’s death. But his memory still looms large for his ex-wife, Priscilla Presley.

On August 16, Priscilla took to social media to post a touching remembrance of her former husband on the 47th anniversary of his death.
“47 years and not a day goes by that I don’t think of you,” she captioned the Instagram post, which also included a short video clip featuring a black-and-white photo of the late King of Rock ‘n’ Roll accompanied by the song “Always On My Mind.”
A few days earlier, Priscilla also paid tribute to Elvis’ mother, Gladys Presley. Priscilla never met Gladys, who died in 1958, a year before she met Elvis. But she knew how much she meant to her husband.
“Today, August 14th, Elvis’ mother Gladys passed,” Priscilla wrote in the Instagram post.

Before there was Priscilla, Cailee Spaeny revealed that her first collaboration with Sofia Coppola was an eventually scrapped version of The Little Mermaid.
“My first-ever callback was through Sofia,” the Alien: Romulus star told Empire. “It was for [Coppola’s] The Little Mermaid, [which] ended up not getting made. I sent this weird self-tape, playing a mermaid with no dialogue.”
In true Coppola fashion, Spaeny said it was “very strange and avant-garde.”
In 2017, Spaeny and Coppola crossed paths again, when the actress auditioned for The Beguiled, a period drama starring Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Colin Farrell and Elle Fanning.
“That didn’t end up working out,” Spaeny recalled. “I was crushed, because Sofia is the director that I zeroed in on as a young teenage girl, especially living in the Bible Belt. There’s something so freeing [in her work] and something that wasn’t really talked about for young women where I grew up. She took young girls seriously.

Cailee Spaeny attended the Alien: Romulus premiere with her co-stars after missing out on the Los Angeles red carpet.
The 26-year-old actress was photographed on the red carpet at the premiere on Wednesday (August 14) in London, England.
Cailee is most known for her leading role as Priscilla Presley in Sofia Coppola‘s Priscilla. Now she’s taking a turn in the sci-fi genre with Alien: Romulus, the seventh film of the popular Alien franchise.
Alongside her on the red carpet were her co-stars, Archie Renaux and Spike Fearn, as well as director Fede Alvarez, who were all at the Los Angeles premiere earlier in the week. Cailee wasn’t there, but we were so glad to see her on London’s red carpet!
Alien: Romulus is in theaters this Friday, so make sure to check out the trailer if you haven’t!
Fyi: Cailee is wearing a Mugler dress. Fede is wearing Zegna.

There’s a dark joke nestled within the appearance of a familiar character in “Alien: Romulus.” The move is a dubious creative decision for the sake of that sprinkle of fan service we’ve come to expect in a reboot. Whatever’s best for the company (i.e. Walt Disney Corp.), indeed.
But this, perhaps, is unfair to “Alien: Romulus” — ultimately a good ol’ fashioned romp — and to its predecessors as a whole. Amid the ongoing gold rush of reboots and revamps, the world of “Alien” has remained a bit of a remarkable creature, so to speak. It’s a franchise whose each iteration (discounting the “Alien vs. Predator” spinoffs) has largely made an earnest and interesting effort to reinvent itself and contend with and expand its mythology.
You can say that about the jump between the two stone-cold classics of “Alien” and “Aliens,” when Ridley Scott’s simple but...

Q: On this day exactly 50 years ago, August 9 1974, Richard Nixon became the first and only President to resign his office. Nixon also significantly brought Best Actor nominations to two actors who played him on screen. Who are they?
A: Anthony Hopkins was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar for 1995’s Nixon. Frank Langella was nominated in the same category for 2008’s Frost/Nixon. Langella had previously won a Tony Award for the play on which that movie was based. Only one actor has ever won a Best Actor Oscar for playing a real life U.S. President. Daniel Day Lewis took his third Lead Actor Academy Award in 2012’s Lincoln. Raymond Massey was also previously nominated as Lincoln for Best Actor in 1940’s Abe Lincoln In Illinois. Nixon and Lincoln are the only real life U.S. Presidents to be responsible for multiple Oscar nominations for those who played them.

Next summer, the Naked Gun franchise is set to return to theaters with Seth MacFarlane producing and Liam Neeson playing Frank Drebin Jr., the son of Leslie Nielsen’s character. But one person who has read the script cautions comedy fans not to get their hopes up, calling the reboot “appallingly unoriginal” and a “beat-for-beat remake of the first film.”
This source also revealed several spoilers about the plot to me.
Much like his father did in the 1988 film, Frank Drebin Jr. will get dropped from the police force and the final conflict will take place at a sporting event, though this time it’s supposedly a wrestling match instead of a baseball game. And just as Nielsen fell in love with the conflicted assistant of the bad guy in the original (played Priscilla Presley), Frank Drebin Jr. will fall in love with the conflicted assistant of the bad guy...

While perhaps not as immediately obvious as a drooling xenomorph with acid-for-blood, one of the many secrets to the Alien franchise’s longevity has been its casting. The original 1979 movie directed by Ridley Scott is rightly celebrated for introducing Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley to the world, yet that whole film’s ensemble is pretty extraordinary. For all intents and purposes, it marked American audiences’ introductions to John Hurt and Ian Holm while also featuring an overall grizzled naturalism, courtesy of actors like Tom Skerritt and Yaphet Kotto.
When the folks starring in the series’ latest iteration, Alien: Romulus, think back to the ’79 movie today, they’re still in a bit of awe. Actor David Jonsson, who plays a benevolent android named Andy in the film, enthuses the first Alien is “almost a theater piece” with its reliance on an often quiet, unshowy ensemble. An auction house that sells Elvis Presley memorabilia, and also has ties to Priscilla Presley, has come under fire by Graceland executives questioning the authenticity of some of its items.
Joel Weinshanker, a managing partner of Elvis Presley Enterprises, recently expressed his concerns to NBC News over Gws Auctions, the auction house owned by Brigitte Kruse — who is also one of four people named in Priscilla’s lawsuit filed earlier this week alleging financial elder abuse.
Weinshanker told the outlet he first became suspicious of the auction house when he noticed a black grommet jacket, said to be worn by the legendary singer in 1972, listed for sale. However, he claimed the jacket was hanging in Graceland’s private collection.
“We know there was only one made, and guess what? We have it in our archives,” Weinshanker said. NBC News noted that it visited Elvis’ estate in Memphis and saw the jacket and its receipt.

Priscilla Presley has reportedly filed a lawsuit against multiple former business associates. She filed 12 different complaints, including financial elder abuse. Here are the details of the suit and what happened with Priscilla.
Priscilla Presley Allegedly Forced Into ‘Indentured Servitude’
Us Weekly confirmed that celebrity attorney Marty Singer filed a lawsuit against four of Priscilla Presley’s business associates. In the suit, which was filed on July 18, they claimed that the associates were attempting to “drain her of every last penny she had.”
The court documents allege that Brigitte Kruse, Kevin Fialko, Lynn Walker Wright, and Vahe Sislyan each “meticulously planned” a strategy to con Priscilla out of her money. Documents stated they schemed against “an older woman by gaining her trust, isolating her from the most important people in her life, and duping her into believing that they would take care of her.”

Graceland is more than just a museum that pays tribute to Elvis Presley. It is also a family home. While no one currently lives in the Memphis, Tennessee estate, the house holds plenty of happy memories for those who lived and laughed with the King of Rock and Roll for the 20 years he lived there. However, one time of the year brought the family home “back to life” more than any other.

While binge-watching Netflix may be the last thing you want to do this summer, streaming a few movies on a cozy movie night can never hurt. And thanks to the steamer's extensive library, you won't be left out of options.
If you already have your subscription active for the rest of July, you might as well take your last chance and check out these 8 movies that are leaving the platform this month.
The Beguiled (2017)
If you enjoyed Sofia Coppola's recent hit Priscilla, which tells the story of the disastrous love and abuse in Priscilla Presley's marriage to Elvis, chances are you'll find 2017's The Beguiled just as exciting.
Set in the mid-1800s, the movie follows Martha Farnsworth, who runs a school for girls in Virginia during the American Civil War. Starring Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman and Kirsten Dunst, this period thriller has no chance of leaving anyone indifferent.
