- When a woman's fiancé disappears, Death gives her three chances to save him from his fate.
- In the Prologue, pirates hide a treasure on an island off the Mexican coast. And the pirates, the map and the treasure disappear in a volcanic eruption. The legend of the island draws treasure seekers for a few centuries, but the treasure lies undetected. Cut to 1938 and Carter Collins)---The Shark---takes possession of the island and turns it into a fortress, while he systematically seeks the gold. He takes over an ancient mansion, installs a physician, Doctor "X", his nurse Zanya, his butler, Hawkins, and Grindley, who has plans of his own, since he already has a portion of the map. The possessor of the other portion soon shows up. Meanwhile, Collins has his slave diggers---The Mole Men---digging up the island looking for the treasure. Back in the states reporter Larry Kent is assigned to go to the island to investigate the disappearance of another reporter, Paul Thorndyke. A sea captain who has half of the map is killed before he can tell the daughter, Toni Morrell, of an old shipmate about the other half but is around long enough to tell her that her father, that she doesn't know, is on the island but expires before he can tell her his name. Toni and Larry decide to join forces and solve the mysteries if the island.

When a load of rubber is put on a riverboat to be taken to port, the boat is attacked by river pirates and the crew is killed and the shipment stolen. Jim Murphy (LeRoy Mason). Elliott's plantation manager, is plotting with others to force Elliott to to sell his plantation. Adventurer Frank Hardy (Frank Buck)determines to find out who is behind the plot.

- When some men are attacked by Indians, a survivor obtains an Indian medicine arrow. An Indian tells Blade he has found gold but will not tell him where until he has that arrow. So Blade starts killing the survivors of the attack but fails to get the arrow. One of the men he kills is John Cardigan and Kit Cardigan, a Scout for Custer, now starts looking for the killer of his father.

The advertising claimed it was filmed over a period of five years at the "Exact Locations of Biblical History." Little is known about the actual production, which has puzzled film scholars given its international box-office success. This edition was made from the only complete copy known to exist, a mint 16mm print of the 1929 7-reel sound reissue.
- Nothwest Mounted Police Corporal Jerry Hale is assigned to take over the district of a fellow-officer, and is puzzled as he had worked this district before and had been mysteriously transferred, disrupting his romance with Helen Brent, the niece of Peter Barkley, the Factor at the trading post. An accountant of the company Berkley works for threatens to expose him when his account is found $10,000 short. Barkley pleads for more time to raise the money. His opportunity arises when he learns that Helen's father and his brother-in-law, Nathan Brent, has struck it rich and is on his way to visit Helen. Barkley instructs his henchmen Carney and Breen to lie in wait and rob Brent of his gold. Brent has a premonition of trouble and buries his gold, making a map of the location. Barkley is disturbed by the arrival of Corporal Hale and goes to warn his men, and finds them already engaged in the attack on Brent. Brent's dog Wolfgang (played by a dog named Rex, or maybe the other way around) attacks Barkley who, in trying to shoot Wolfgang (or Rex) shoots Brent instead. Hale rushes toward the sound of the shot and the hidden Barkley watches the dying Brent give him the map. On his way to town, Hale is knocked unconscious off his horse, and Barkley takes the map, studies it and then replaces it. Hale reports the murder to Mountie headquarters, and is amazed to find himself accused by his Commandant of the murder and he produces three affidavits attesting to his guilt. Things look dark for Hale, but Wolfgang (or Rex) is also working on the case.
