ICIJ’s mission is to show people how the world really works through stories that rock the world, forcing positive change. Our vision: we expose wrongdoing so the world can make it right.
Our donors support our mission to hold the powerful to account but have no influence – nor prior knowledge – of the stories we investigate, how we report them or who conducts the work. Our editorial team is empowered to pursue any story, regardless of where it leads or who is implicated.
The diversity of our funding sources — including governments, foundations, and individuals — strengthens our ability to remain independent.
