Lucas Luedtke drove in six runs, including a bases-clearing go-ahead double in the bottom of the fourth inning to highlight a 9-0 River Falls’ run, to spark the Fighting Fish to a 9-2 victory over the Plum City Blues Wednesday night at First National Bank of River Falls Field.

The win was the seventh straight for the Fighting Fish, fourth straight in St. Croix Valley Baseball League play, and boosted their records to 20-6 overall, 13-1 in the SCVBL. They’ll continue league play Friday night in Osceola before hosting the Hudson River Rats Saturday at 7 p.m. River Falls’ lone league loss was a 3-1 decision to the River Rats June 22 in Hudson.

Luedtke’s three-run double in the fourth gave River Falls a 4-3 lead after Plum City had taken a 2-0 lead in the top of the third and Weston Lombard singled in the Fish’s first run of the game in the bottom of the inning.

Brian Giebel doubled in a run and scored in the sixth to extend the Fish lead to 6-2 before a two-run double by Luedtke and an RBI double by Lombard in the eighth made the final 9-2. Luedtke, Lombard, Giebel and Kyle Fritz had two hits each while Fritz also scored three times.

Jaxin Larson earned the victory on the mound, allowing two runs on three hits in six innings or work before Matt Doornink held the Blues hitless over the final three innings to pick up the save.
