Hilton opened a 452-room dual-flag hotel in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the company announced Wednesday.
The property consists of The Ellie Beach Resort Myrtle Beach – part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection – and DoubleTree Resort by Hilton. Singerman Real Estate owns the hotel, which is managed by Pyramid Global Hospitality.
The multi-brand hotel includes “larger and enhanced” communal areas and amenities than a traditional standalone property, according to Hilton.
The hotel features two on-site restaurants, Ocean Blue Restaurant and Southern Tide Bar & Grille. Recreational amenities include six pools and three water slides, beach and pier access, a mini-golf course, sport courts and a 24-hour fitness center.
The hotel also includes 38,000 square feet of meeting space.
Some 238 of the hotel’s rooms and suites belong to The Ellie Beach Resort, and 214 are part of DoubleTree by Hilton. The offerings are intended to appeal to leisure and business travelers, according to Hilton.
Hilton has a “growing footprint” of multi-brand properties, according to the release. That footprint includes a dual-branded Tempo by Hilton and Homewood Suites property, slated to open this summer in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Other hotel companies are betting on dual-branded hotels as well. IHG Hotels & Resorts plans to open some 40 dual-brand properties that combine its Avid Hotels and Candlewood Suites flags. Marriott International is underway on an AC Hotel and Element by Westin property in Phoenix. And Choice Hotels International debuted its combination Everhome Suites and WoodSpring Suites hotel in March.
