Scope and ContentA compact disk-read only (CD-R) with 258 color digital images of signs and buildings with signs in Hoboken taken by Jean-Paul Picard. It was created for use as documentation related to th Hoboken Historical Museum's Spring-Winter 2002 exhibition about Hoboken signage "Signs & Traces." A copy of this disk was shown as a continuous computer slide show during the exhibit. The donated copy is marked 'A' and a dupicate for research use is marked "Reference Copy." All images are copyright 2002 Jean-Paul Picard, all rights reserved. Any use of these images must be accompanied by a credit. Use is limited to authorized researchers and non-commercial use. The JPEG format scans were created by Kodak as part of the original film processing. Picard created 3 duplicate digital sets organized in three folders: 1) by image number which is related to the original processed film negative; 2) images arranged in sub-folders by areas of the town; 3) images by title as named by Picard. The contents of this disk also exists as a set of 4" x 6" color prints of each of the images. They are in the photo catalog: 2002.220.0001 to 2002.220.0xxx. N.B. Some photos are not on the disk and are so noted in their record. They have been scanned from the print. The prints are stored in photo catalog number order in print sleeves in two three-ring binders. Also stored with each photo is the original label Picard produced with the title and his notes. All of this information has been entered in the catalog plus corrections and other detail.
