Cancer Institute NSW

The Cancer Institute is a state wide Government cancer control agency and a pillar of NSW Health, established under the Cancer Institute NSW (2003) Act to lessen the impact of cancer across the state.

Vision and mission

Cancer Institute works across the health care system to promote better; cancer prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and care.

How Cancer Institute NSW can help

The Cancer Institute collect and use the latest cancer data, information and evidence to drive improvements in cancer outcomes.

The Institute works in partnership with all involved in the cancer community to:

  • reduce the incidence of cancer in the community
  • increase the survival rate for people diagnosed with cancer
  • improve the quality of life for people with cancer and their carers
  • provide a source of expertise on cancer control for the government, health service providers, medical researchers and the general community.
