“I’m not going to lie. When I first bought these Miu Miu loafers for my birthday this year, I was worried that I wouldn't actually wear them enough to justify the price. But these turned out to be my best purchase of the year, fully earning their cost per wear. I wore them almost daily—to work, dinner, to days spent wandering museums. They're supremely comfortable to wear, but I also found that they helped elevate each outfit, whether it was a pair of jeans and a white tee, a blazer-and-trousers combo, or a dress. While they're fully an 'IYKYK' fashion shoe, I couldn’t be more thrilled that I took the plunge and made the purchase.” —Julie Tong, commerce content lead
“To me, this is the perfect crew neck sweater—a staple in any winter wardrobe. I love the warm brown color, the soft knit, and the length. It’s a classic piece that can be styled so many different ways.” —Olivia Alchek, senior designer
“I’ve desperately wanted a Chanel CC necklace since Anne Hathaway wore one with a black tweed suit in The Devil Wears Prada, and for my birthday, I finally splurged. I love them all, but I chose one that I think goes with everything and is not too flashy. A friend recently told me that it’s 'so Y2K,' but in case you haven’t heard, Y2K is back!” —Rosa Sanchez, senior news editor
“These supple leather ankle boots aren’t just super comfortable (I’ve traversed Manhattan in them many times over without a blister in sight) but also have a square toe that makes them feel polished and elongates any silhouette.” —Ariana Marsh, senior features editor
“I've been wearing glasses since I was 10 years old but found myself gravitating towards contact lenses the better part of the last couple years. I just wasn't feeling the frames I already had and couldn't seem to land on a pair that felt timeless, a little edgy, and weren't going to put me back several hundred dollars. Then I came across this Romilly frame from Cubitts late October. I had them in my hands roughly a week after placing my order and was immediately smitten. The oversized lenses feel very dramatic, very Maria Callas, but are also practical—I can see a lot more, more clearly, in one go—while the tortoiseshell color functions as a neutral, complementing any outfit while adding some warmth to my complexion. The best part is that if I have any issues with fit overtime, I can pop into the Cubitts store and have them adjusted on the spot. My eyes have never been happier. ” —Michella Oré, fashion commerce editor
“I really invested in comfort this year. I fell in love with everything Cou Cou Intimates makes, from their tanks and cardigans to jersey pants and the most comfortable I-can’t-even-tell-I’m-wearing-a-bra bras. They also make the best gifts—just ask three of my friends who received them from me this year.”—Faith Brown, senior social media editor
“I was feeling incredibly dramatic when I ordered this backless candy apple-red glove dress from my favorite Ukrainian designer sisters. I have yet to wear it, but I’m sure I’ll find a moment this holiday season. For now, I’ve just been staring at it in awe as it hangs in my closet.” —RS
“I’ve wanted these boots for so long I don’t even remember how long it’s been. I own a lot of black boots, but no black boots that I can wear all the time. I haven’t had a go-to. For years I’ve been hearing friends tell me that they’ve never owned a boot that was sexier, more comfortable, or easier to wear. So when these finally went on sale during Black Friday, I had to get them—and I haven’t looked back. I can totally see why everyone raves about them. They're so comfortable I went to a concert on the second night I owned them, stood all night, and didn’t notice I was wearing them. And every time I put them on, people ask me where they’re from. They truly are the perfect black boot.” —Tara Gonzalez, senior fashion editor
“If it ain't broke, don’t fix it—or, in this case, if you lose one of your favorite everyday hoops, immediately replace it. I’ve been wearing these slim, gold huggies from Mejuri for years. They’re elegant, adding a little effortless bling to whatever look I’m sporting, and they’re small enough to comfortably sleep in so I can keep them in for days at a time. Luckily, Mejuri always has this evergreen style in stock so when I lost one earlier this year I was able to quickly repurchase it.” —MO
“I finally added the Samba sneakers to my shoe rotation this season and they’ve quickly become one of my go-to shoes. Since I purchased them in black, the sneakers are easy to pair with almost everything in my closet, from elevated trousers to a sturdy pair of jeans.”—Tiffany Dodson Davis, beauty commerce editor
“We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Leopard print is a neutral! I love every statement piece Nocturne makes, and this fuzzy pencil skirt has become my entire personality.” —RS
“The return of the original balm dot calm formula is singlehandedly the most important thing that has happened to me all year. I have tried a lot of lip balms and none come close to Glossier’s. The rose flavor is my favorite; it has a very subtle scent and a very light blush pink color. I keep one in every bag and every coat pocket!” —FB
“Believe it or not, I did not have a single pair of flat sandals in my closet until I bought this pair from Vagabond. I don’t know why I waited so long to get some (I blame the early-20-something version of me that seemed to solely invest in kitten heels), but I have since adored this addition. The sleek, curved toe strap adds just the right amount of intrigue to any outfit, and the cushioned footbed means I can wear these all day long with minimal discomfort.” —Chelsey Sanchez, digital editor
“I’ve finally been adding more furniture to my apartment and it’s really starting to feel like a home…but there are few things that have really fundamentally impacted it as much as the Rocco Mini Fridge. I live in New York, so our fridge isn’t huge, and adding a drink fridge really freed up space—and allows me to live out my hostess dreams! I’ve had friends over a couple times and there is truly no better feeling than having them oooh and ahhh over the drink selection I keep in my Rocco. It’s also so beautiful, and I’m loving building out a tablescape of fun cocktail glasses and books to keep on top. It’s totally transformed my kitchen area and I am deeply, deeply obsessed.” — TG
“I never got the hype with Uggs, but then again, I never actually tried them on. That is, until an Ugg store opened up right across from the office and I tried on my first pair—and immediately started to get the hype. If you’re unsure about making the full leap into Ugg territory, I would recommend trying out the Tazz. It’s very close to a slipper, plus it's got a nice platform sole that’ll give you a little bit of extra height—because who doesn’t love that?” —Kristina Ang, social video coordinator
“I’m a big proponent of the capris comeback, and that’s largely thanks to this denim offering from AFRM. The high-rise silhouette is extremely flattering, and I love styling them with some kitten heels and a flouncy top for a casual date night.” — CS
“I first heard of this cool Copenhagen-based brand earlier this year and was dying to try their footwear. When I finally got these slouchy ankle boots last month, they did not disappoint. They look so good with baggy pants. The stiletto heel dresses up any outfit, but it’s also small enough to walk around all day in, which is very important to me.” —RS
