Cate Blanchett Is a Vision on the Red Carpet in a White Crystal-Covered Gown

Cate Blanchett is getting us excited about red-carpet dressing again. The actor—who leads with sustainability when curating her wardrobe—has been on a fabulous style streak at the 81st Venice International Film Festival. Every time she has stepped out on the carpet this week, we have been absolutely wowed by her statement-making ensembles, and today, of course, is no different.

Blanchett made her grand arrival at the world premiere of her new Apple TV+ series Disclaimer this afternoon, and made heads turn in a gleaming white floor-length gown custom-made by Louis Vuitton. The dress featured an elegant high neck and a flowy, sheer curtain at the bust dotted with shiny white crystals. A built-in belt cinched the structured bodice as the skirt fell into a subtle train that pooled around Blanchett’s pointy white pumps.

The Tár star accessorized the glamorous look minimally, with diamond earrings and a massive diamond ring, plus some rosy shades with chunky cream frames for a bit of welcome cool factor.

While the day may have just started for us in the United States, Blanchett’s appearance on Lido di Venezia already marks her second engagement of the day, as well as her second outfit. In the morning, the actor arrived at the Italian festival via canal boat, looking like the badass she is in a black-and-white striped suit from Giorgio Armani. The blazer was cinched at the waist with a thin leather belt, and Blanchett coordinated with black pointed-toe pumps, matching oversize square shades, and black rings. She added some daggerlike diamond earrings for extra edge.
