32 Beauty Products Our Editors Loved in December

Including Bazaar-approved mascaras and the $22 barrier cream we're obsessed with

By

I'm always asked, “What are your favorite beauty products?”—and honestly, I find that question hard to answer. My role as Bazaar’s beauty director requires me to test hundreds, if not thousands, of launches yearly, so my favorites change daily as I discover what’s new. I’m not alone in this. My colleagues also have access to the best that beauty has to offer, and, combined with their exceptional taste, are keepers of so many must-have recommendations across skincare, haircare, body care, makeup, and more. The list below represents the top beauty products we all tried and loved in December, organized in one handy list. Happy holidays and happy shopping!

L'Oreal Paris Paradise Big Deal Mascara

Paradise Big Deal Mascara

"Do you also like to pile on layer after layer of mascara? Same. I love a thick lash, but I still want length and definition to avoid a clumpy mess. This new mascara from L'Oreal Paris delivers on all fronts. It truly does not clump; the brand tested its smoothing complex against 100 coats. You can add just one or two coats for a flirty daytime look, or go wild and pump up the volume for something more dramatic." —Jenna Rosenstein, beauty director

"Merit's first fragrance is really a revelation. I'm not surprised; I'm a big fan of their uncomplicated and chic makeup offering, and their first fragrance, with notes of bergamot, pear, jasmine, and rosemary, doesn't disappoint. Also, they've done an amazingly chic jewelry collaboration with Completedworks that goes together with the fragrance. We love a beauty fashion duo." —Lynette Nylander, executive digital director

Attar Floral Concentrate Balm

"Winter weather does a number on my dry, sensitive skin, but heavy balms and creams tend to clog my pores. Insert Monastery’s Attar Floral Concentrate Balm. I’ve noticed significantly less dryness and irritation since I started slathering this on before spending time outside. A little goes a long way, so a single bottle lasts me all winter long." —Sarah Maberry, fashion and luxury commerce editor
