Delv delivers COVID-19 app for govt

Australian technology company Delv has developed a COVID-19 app for sharing essential public health information in collaboration with the federal government.

The Department of Health and the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has worked with the company to provide the app, which will act as a single source of information for citizens regarding the crisis.

Citizens will be able to use the app to access a government news feed, check their symptoms, register for self-isolation, access supporting resources and find key contact information.

The app, which is available for both Android and iOS, will be continually updated throughout the pandemic with new features and functionality.

Department of Health CIO Daniel Keys said Delv was selected for the project due to its strong track record of developing solutions in short timeframes.

The company worked quickly to design, build and deliver the app based on insights gained from workshops with the department and consultation with the DTA.

“By leveraging their group of experts, Delv took ownership of the design and delivery, engaging confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver a highly scalable app in record time.”

Delv Chairman and founder Sam Samir added that Delv has a long history of working with the Australian Government.

“[Delv] has been built on playing a key role in executing significant government initiatives. The coronavirus app development ties in perfectly with Delv’s vision and purpose,” he said.
