Clare Minchington
Biography
Clare Minchington was appointed to the Agency Board in January 2021. She has spent her career working within professional education and regulation. Her current appointments and experience include:
- Senior Council Member and Chair, Remuneration Committee for the General Optical Council and
- Chair, Audit and Risk Committee for the Institute of Physics
As a non-executive she has previously served as Chair of the Academic Council for BPP University and Senior Independent Board Member and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for the College of Policing. Before moving to non-executive roles, Clare spent 15 years with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), rising to Executive Director for Strategy and Development, responsible for ACCA’s strategy, brand, policy and qualifications. She originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse and, prior to joining ACCA, held academic positions at Manchester Metropolitan University and the Open University Business School.
Clare has been a member of International Federation of Accountant’s (IFAC) International Accounting Education Standards Board, Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board for Oxford Brookes University Business School and a trustee and Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee of the Terrence Higgins Trust.
