<p>Hojlund was provided with the perfect opportunity to open the scoring for the Red Devils against Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield, as he found himself one-on-one vs Alisson late in the first half, but fired his shot straight at a charging goalkeeper. Fans too to social media to vent their frustration at Hojlund, who also halted two promising counter attacks and struggled to hold the ball up.</p>

Genuinely a player with almost 0 redeemable qualities."</p><p><a href="https://x.com/JackyHenchman/status/1875953914555908561" target="_blank">@JackyHenchman</a> said: "Hojlund man oh my god of all the places you could've shot and you decide to shoot STRAIGHT AT ALLISON (crying emoji)".</p><p><a href="https://x.com/sulkfenomeno/status/1875953220054659377" target="_blank">@sulkfenomeno</a> explained: "Hojlund just gives you nothing. He’s just there. Zero outlet, cannot hold it up, never makes himself an option, zero box threat. There is zero point playing him. Were automatically playing with 10 when he starts."</p><p>Meanwhile, Arsenal fan <a href="https://x.com/PaddyArsenal/status/1875951779076260135" target="_blank">@PaddyArsenal </a>joked: "I’m convinced Hojlund was only ever rated because his name sounds like Haaland".</p>

WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

<p>Hojlund joined Manchester United in the summer of 2023 from Atalanta for a fee of £64 million ($79.5m) plus a potential £8 million ($9.9m) in add-ons. However, his performances have not lived up to the price tag over the last season and a half. The Dane has only scored 23 goals in 65 appearances but has shown some glimpses of improvement under Amorim, which is why Hojlund is likely to remain as United's first-choice number nine in the second half of the season.</p>
