Multi Factor Authentication (MFA): Text Messaging Being Retired

Starting December 23, 2024 SMS (text messaging) will no longer be supported as a multi-factor authenticator option (MFA). This means that in addition to your password, you will be required to use the Microsoft Authenticator, an authorized USB token or other third party MFA application to access your computer resources.

If you have a smart phone, the easiest way is to download and use the Microsoft Authenticator application. Its free of charge and allows for a secure login while maintaining compliance with MFA requirements. View the Quick Guide.

Employees

Workday will also retire support for SMS & voice calls. Rest assured, you will be able to use the same Microsoft Authenticator application or a third party application of your preference, such as Google Authenticator or Okta Verify. If you are off campus or accessing the Workday app, you will be required to use Workday's MFA. If on campus or GBC device, you will be able to use Myapps to access Workday without the need for its additional MFA.
