2024 MLB MVP race, odds: Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani will likely win AL, NL MVPs

The MLB postseason is here and the MVP races are effectively over.

As a matter of fact, at most sportsbooks, the odds market for the award in the NL and the AL are off the board.

In the AL, Aaron Judge closed as the odds-on favorite at -4000. At the beginning of August, he was -900 to win the award.

The Bronx Bomber has hit for .322 with 144 RBI and 58 home runs. 

Complementing his extraordinary year, Judge recently became the fastest player to 300 home runs. On August 25, he hit his 50th homer for the New York Yankees in the 2024 season.

Shohei Ohtani founds 50/50 club, Is he the greatest baseball player ever?

Over in the NL, Shohei Ohtani will likely be named MVP.

National League MVP Odds:

The Dodgers' megastar has a .320 batting average, 54 homers and 130 RBI. On August 3, he became the first player this season to join the 30/30 club when he notched three steals against the Oakland A's. 

He is the third-fastest player in MLB history to reach that milestone, when factoring number of games played. 

Eric Davis reached the mark in 90 games in 1987 and Alex Rodriguez accomplished the feat in 107 games in 1998. 

In an even more extraordinary turn of events, Ohtani made more history on Sept. 19.

He became the first MLB player to post a 50/50 season. And this season will mark the first time the two-way extraordinaire has ever scratched the MLB postseason.
