I'd rather live in this world knowing that there's just a normal idiot behind this movie than knowing that the whole thing is a foul, calculated, purely output-oriented effort to extract money from youth through a combination of jump-scare horror, mobile apps, and pop references, all wrapped in a trendy female empowerment shell to give it a boost. Good thing we have a ruthless psycho sitting in on the state exams at FAMU, so nothing like that can happen here. I'm actually relieved. ()
It's a horror film for the not-so-demanding, but it kept me entertained; if I could forget about the second death, which would have been better off not showing anything, I'd probably be a little happier. I really liked the rather clever finale and I'd like to see the main character in something else. ()
The American production Countdown is a classic horror movie that has the potential to attract attention in the movie theatres, which is why it was released here, too. It is, however, not a groundbreaking movie, just a simple entertaining horror flick that has an interesting premise and an ending that is a little far-fetched. However, it could not have ended any other way, and if you turned a blind eye, you could leave the cinema quite satisfied after seeing the movie. ()
