Plots(1)
At the graduation celebration held at an exclusive girl's school, a uniformed intruder commits violent acts against the partygoers. The khaki-clad maniac impales his unfortunate victims with a bayonet. This masterwork of stylish gore is one of the most beloved cult slashers of the 1980's, and features a strong performance by famed actor Farley Granger, whose performance in Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train proved him to be a compelling horror actor. For some, goats and pitchforks evoke a farm, while for others, this sharp slasher by Joseph Zito rightfully earns its status as a cult classic. Richard Einhorn's disturbing music, solid gore during explicit murders, a masked killer with stabbing weapons and flair, the sheriff’s deputy with a scrawny chest and Cillian Murphy's eyes, his persistent ward, and a dreamlike vibe reminiscent of A Nightmare on Elm Street. The epilogue in the shower amidst paradise music and hazy shots was as ridiculous as it was brilliant. Tom Savini considers it his best work, and I certainly don’t intend to argue with Sexy Machine about it. ()
