At that age, gastronomy is so important that it can shatter the world economy. As everybody is looking for new flavors, professionals appear: the "Gourmet Hunters"! Those people, who have a very high knowledge of food, have traveled in unknown lands and encountered unimaginable hazards in order to become true "taste explorers". Some Gourmet Hunters benefit from a reputation beyond borders; among them is Toriko! Once, Komatsu, a young chef receives an important order: he has to prepare a meal with "Gararawani" meat, a ferocious kind of alligator, as well as fugu-whale and other impossible-to-find ingredients. To look for these ingredients, he hires Toriko.
