Grigor Dimitrov planning to 'get naked' at Laver Cup after antics with Novak Djokovic

Grigor Dimitrov has been busy this week. The world No. 10 played an exhibition match against Novak Djokovic in Sofia on Tuesday.

He then raced to Berlin for the Laver Cup, where he will represent Team Europe for the second time.

After his antics during his exhibition with Djokovic, the Bulgarian’s teammates are planning to see Dimitrov “get naked” to celebrate if they win.

Dimitrov was drafted into Team Europe at the last minute following Rafael Nadal’s withdrawal last week. It was a quick turnaround for the 33-year-old after he hosted Djokovic in Sofia on Tuesday.

He beat the 24-time Grand Slam champion in a match tiebreak 6-4 2-6 [10-6]. But the tennis wasn’t the talking point. Dimitrov and Djokovic donned custom matching denim jackets before taking to the court.

The jackets weren’t the only things they took off when they started the match, as Djokovic started doing a striptease before Dimitrov followed his lead. The Serb took his top off before waving it in the air and shaking his hips to the music.

He continued his dance as he changed into a new shirt and started doing push-ups. Once his show was over, Dimitrov teased the crowd, holding the bottom of his own t-shirt and pretending to lift it up. He eventually peeled it off with Djokovic’s encouragement.

And their tricks could now carry over to the Laver Cup, where Dimitrov will face Alejandro Tabilo on Friday. During Team Europe’s pre-tournament press conference, he was asked whether there would be another “striptease”.

“I was hoping you're not going to mention that one,” he laughed. “I'll let the boys decide on that, whatever they want me to do. No, we had a great time with Novak.”

And one of Dimitrov’s teammates had another suggestion. Alexander Zverev added: “We win, Grigor gets naked, just for the female fans. And for Bjorn.”
