Millwall’s Shane Lowry under-hit a backpass to keeper Stephen Bywater, who was forced to concede a corner in the 57th minute.
Vaughan headed in from Adam Hamill’s set-piece kick to leave Millwall still without a league point.
Huddersfield boss Mark Robins said: “It was a clean sheet and a decent performance. I thought we withstood everything that Millwall threw at us and it’s never an easy place to come.”

Millwall manager Steve Lomas said: “I thought that’s the best we’ve played this season. To concede another sloppy goal from the set play is bitterly disappointing.”
