Prince Harry has shown the Royal Family one thing with his surprise UK trip
Lord Robert Fellowes was honoured last week by members of his family and close friends. By all accounts many of the good burghers of Snettisham Norfolk turned out to pay their respects too. It wasn’t a public event; it shouldn’t have been. It was private and certainly should have been respected as such, for the most part it was, apparently.
The fact that the Prince William was in attendance should have come as no surprise, not so his younger sibling who had explicitly let it be known that he would NOT be attending. Citing “security” fears as largely being the deciding factor, Prince Harry nonetheless pitched up much to the everyone’s “surprise”.
Perhaps in retrospect his appearance shouldn’t have been quite so unexpected.
One thing that does stand out though, is that Haz and Megs have shown conclusively they can be discreet when it suits their purpose. Normally any time either of them venture beyond the closeted world of their expensive digs the whole world seems to know about it.
Revelations of one or other of them having been “spotted” are routinely reported, yet on this occasion it was incognito big style. This just proves Sussex security grandstanding is little more than a total farce.

Nobody in their right mind can possibly have an issue with paying final respects to a departed family member or loved one. Even then, it is something that should remain privately dignified. If this had taken place under “normal” circumstances where Harry wasn’t so toxically estranged from his family then there wouldn’t have been the huge media circus, would there?
Did Prince William KNOW his brother was going to be in attendance? It is hard to believe he didn’t since there would certainly have been security considerations involved.
Moreover, it is highly unlikely Harry would show up with his protection detail “armed to the teeth” unannounced either. There would have to have been some contact between the Montecito Lair and the Palace ahead of time.
Now as to the actual objective, or specifically the overriding reason for Harry’s short jaunt we should perhaps consider what usually motivates the Sussex’s. Haz and Megs can NEVER be accused of spontaneity in anything they do. Everything is always choreographed down to the finest detail. It’s always orchestrated by their spinmeisters in Lala Land.
So, where’s the beef here? Well, now this is where we wander into the world of conjecture and things start to get interesting. Any opinion of course represents an assessment of a given situation accompanied by a reasoned argument for it. So, here goes.
It’s stating an obvious well-known truth that the relationship between the Sussex Duo and the British Royal Family is severely damaged. Haz and Megs would have us believe that racism lies at the heart of the problem and that things were so unbearable after Megs joined that she became suicidal.
Since their departure as senior working royals no effort has been spared (no pun intended) to paint themselves as victims of the most beastly conspiracy imaginable. Harry’s fall from grace with the British public since Megs appeared on the scene not so long ago is even more remarkable in hindsight. Harry was universally adored the length and breadth of the land.
We loved his habitual naughtiness, and we were all behind him when he lost his mother so tragically too. When Megs did eventually crash the party, we were all genuinely delighted that perhaps now Haz had found someone with whom he could find happiness and peace in his life.
There was never any hint of racial disparagement in voicing disapproval of their involvement with each other. There was genuine joy, people were caught up in a strong sense of euphoria. There were of course those too, fortunately in the almost indiscernible minority, who are irredeemably bigoted and for whom ethnicity determines their very existence.
Things started to go bleeps up when it seems Wills questioned the rapidity of his brother’s intentions towards this seemingly charismatic lady. “Perhaps, Harry, you’re rushing things a bit”, Wills is reported to have commented? Haz appears to have gone off the deep end and thrown a hissy second to none and, well, there you have it, the rest is history.
Prince Philip, Wills and Hazza’s grandfather, was reported to have voiced his opinion…..“One steps out with actresses, Boy. One doesn’t marry them!”.
This is admittedly pure speculation, although something seismic pushed H over the edge and the events as many believe them to have been would seem to support these conclusions. In any case, common sense tells one what one instinctively “knows” to be true on an objective balance of probability.
Publicity stunt after publicity stunt, including this fleeting visit to attend his uncle’s funeral confirms the belief of many in support of a sustained Sussex assault to reconnect with the RF, but on their terms of course.
His Majesty King Charles III might be swayed for unquestionably understandable reasons, but I doubt very seriously if Wills has any inclination to fall for this. The descent into abject vulgarity on Hazza’s part when he should certainly know better is appalling. For Megs as a product of the twilight and fickle world of life in Tinseltown there is perhaps some excuse as she wouldn’t know any better.
The sad reality is when all is said and done Sussex relevance and sustainability can never be entirely on their own merit independently of the RF link. Megs sees nothing wrong with capitalising on her title and link to the firm, all of five minutes of its duration, but Haz knows that this is simply not on. Granny, after all, would remain overwhelmingly appalled!
