Prince Louis appeared to avoid a stern telling-off from the Princess of Wales on Saturday due to one very cheeky move.

The six-year-old royal, who is known for his mischievous antics, was spotted giving his mum a run for her money as he joined the family at this year's Trooping the Colour.

Having taken some time away from the spotlight during her treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer, Princess Kate made her first public appearance since last December on Saturday.

With their mother pausing royal duties, her children - including Prince Louis - have also taken a step back from the royal spotlight in recent months. Their appearance on Saturday was also their first of the year.

During his appearance, Princess Kate and Prince William's youngest son displayed his feelings amid the ceremony - and appeared to reflect signs of boredom.

Speaking to the Mirror about this move by Louis, body language expert Adrianne Carter said that this made him avoid a telling off by his mum.

She said: "Louis is getting bored; he's starting to mess with things. This is a sign that Louis is still the lovely and bright personality that we've come to recognise. Louis's big yawn was unspotted by Kate so he was able to give it his all!"

As the ceremony picked up, Louis then started to look like he was enjoying himself - even having a little dance.

She said: "He looks like he's enjoying himself a bit more! Hands behind his back is something he's obviously been told to do, maybe to help him stop fidgeting. It looks like [Princess] Charlotte spotted his little dance and told him to calm it down maybe."
