Make your bathroom sparkle again with cleaning hack that uses two household staples
A cleaning guru has unveiled some handy tricks using two everyday household items to achieve a gleaming bathroom.
A cleaning expert has brought attention to two every day household items that can leave your bathroom sparkling.
While it’s usually one of the least favoured household chores, cleaning your bathroom is key to maintaining the hygiene around your home.
Sarah Dempsey from MyJobQuote, a UK-based company connecting homeowners with tradespeople, shared her must-try tips.
If you’re struggling with toothpaste residue around your sink, it turns out, it can actually help clean the mess it makes.
Dempsey recommends using a damp cloth or sponge to scrub the area with the leftover toothpaste.
“Next time you notice toothpaste marks around the sink, grab a sponge or damp cloth and give your sink a quick scrub with it,” she said.
“The toothpaste residue will act as a gentle cleaner for the bathroom and will leave your sink looking sparklingly clean and smelling minty fresh.”
Perhaps a more surprising tip involves using the popular soft drink Coca-Cola as a powerful cleaning alternative for your toilet.
Dempsey recommends using it as a substitute for other toilet cleaning products - though it's best to check the specific cleaning instructions for your toilet model.

“Grab a bottle and pour it around the rim of your toilet bowl,” she told The Sun.
“Leave it to do its thing for roughly an hour and then give it a good scrubbing with your toilet brush.
“This will effectively remove all of the stubborn stains from the toilet bowl and leave it fresh and clean.”
