Cast Away: Phillip Schofield on three people who got him sacked

Holly Willoughby has kept her lips sealed following her ex-This Morning co-star Phillip Schofield's appearance on Channel 5’s series Cast Away.

This was the same for his unconventional act of burning a list of foes in his latest episode.

Holly, who left the show in October 2023 after an alarming abduction scheme came to light, has maintained complete silence over Phillip's controversy and return to screens.

The fallen television icon’s career with ITV ended abruptly after his secret romantic involvement with a much younger staff member became public last year.

During the episode, the 62-year-old proclaimed freedom from negativity as he set fire to a roster of individuals he harbours no fondness for, before running naked into the sea.

Launching a new wave of speculation, Phillip engaged in the fiery ceremony while secluded on a remote island near Madagascar where he was cast away.

The show marks his first appearance back on screens following the scandal which he dubbed an “unwise but not illegal affair.”

Addressing the camera, he shared: “There's something I've done here that I haven't shared with you yet, and now's the time.

“Over the course of my 10 days, I have written down all the things and all the people who were and are toxic in my life and so I have that now, it's there, that's it.”

Tossing the written names into the fire before viewers could look at them, Phillip declared: “And now the toxic bank is empty, and the goodness bank is full.

“Don't dwell on what you have lost. Live for what you have and be grateful for it,” adding: “You have to be joyful about the future, no matter what the future might be.”

During the programme, the former presenter also claimed that his departure from ITV resulted in the loss of many friendships, believed to include Holly as the duo no longer communicate or interact on social media.
