Anton Du Beke was flooded with support as he shared exciting news away from Strictly Come Dancing.

The TV judge, 57, announced that he's been shortlisted for an award for his charity work with The Sick Children's Trust. Anton shared the news on Instagram, confessing the nomination "means the world" to him.

He wrote: "I’m delighted to tell you that I’ve been shortlisted for the Celebrity Charity Champion Award in the Third Sector Awards for my work with @thesickchildrenstrust!

"As you know, I’m a proud ambassador of The Sick Children’s Trust, a wonderful charity providing 'Homes from Home' for families with a seriously ill child in hospital. They do amazing work for families going through incredibly difficult times."

The professional dancer added: "It is a privilege to shine the spotlight on a charity I am deeply passionate about, and being shortlisted for this award means the world to me."

Anton received an influx of supportive messages from fans, with one commenting: "Thoroughly deserved Anton you’re a diamond for doing all you do for this charity. Good luck."

A second penned: "No less than you deserve! Congratulations." Another posted: "How proud you must be, it’s such important work that you do Anton, and truly wonderful. Keeping my fingers crossed for you, once again thank you for all you do."

Someone else declared: "You are my winner." While another shared: "Good luck, such an amazing charity, congratulations on your nomination." Anton is currently on tour with former Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice.

The Italian dancer has been at the centre of controversy in recent months after the BBC launched an investigation into his alleged behaviour on the show.

Giovanni, 33, who won the competition in 2021 with Rose Ayling-Elllis, was dropped from the series earlier this year after his 2023 celebrity partner Amanda Abbington claimed her time with him left her with PTSD.

Giovanni has denied all claims made against him and told the BBC he rejects "any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour".

Anton has continued to back his former co-star and their tour, Anton & Giovanni Together, went ahead as planned.

The two formed a close friendship while starring on Strictly and went on to appear in a travel series, Anton and Giovanni's Adventures in Sicily followed by Anton and Giovanni's Adventures in Spain.
