Shannen Doherty’s touching message to Princess Kate has been unearthed in the wake of the actress’s tragic death over the weekend.

The Beverly Hills 90210 alum, 53, lost her nine-year-long battle with cancer on Saturday, her publicist confirmed.

Shannen was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, then in 2023 she had a brain tumour removed and went on to reveal that the cancer had spread to her bones.

Following the Princess of Wales’ bombshell cancer admission, the Charmed actress sent a personal message of support for her.

Taking to Instagram the day after Kate revealed she was battling cancer, Shannen began: "Being a public figure does not mean the public owns that person.

“We ALL have the right to go through illness or life privately.”

As she added: “The onslaught of conspiracy theories, ownership, and plain, morbid curiosity forced this person to explain herself before she had come to terms with it and explained it to her children.

“I pray this is a learning moment for us all to respect privacy or others, regardless of being in the public eye.

“And Princess Kate, I admire your strength through the endless onslaught you've been under while going through cancer,” he message concluded.

This comes on the heels of Shannen's long-time publicist Leslie Sloane, confirming the actress had died.

“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty,” Leslie told People on Sunday. "On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease.

“The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.”
