The ultimate barn-find! Police raid discovers over $3 million in stolen classic cars

Following a tip-off, police made the discovery during a raid on a regional property.

Police have uncovered more than $CA3 million ($AU3.3M) worth of stolen classic cars hidden away in a barn in Canada.

After receiving a complaint late last year, Ontario Provincial Police found the 16 vehicles at a property in Stirling – situated between the major cities of Ottawa and Toronto.

Among the hoard were a number of classic Chevrolet Corvettes, Ford Coupes, a Ford F-1 truck, and several hot rods, according to a report by US site Carscoops.

Police arrested two men following the raid on the property on 14 May.

Each is charged with theft of motor vehicles over $CA5000 ($AU5514), fraud over $CA5000, using forged documents, and conspiracy to commit an indictable offense [sic]. One of the men is additionally facing a charge of uttering threats.

It’s understood the pair previously admitted 10 separate charges and paid thousands in fines back in 2003 for violations of Canada’s Motor Vehicle Dealers Act.
