The most-watched Netflix series of all time

With a near-constant stream of new original releases and exciting show acquisitions from around the globe, the Netflix catalogue continues to grow and grow. There's a reason we've named it one of the best streaming services.

We're sure you'll be familiar with Netflix's Top 10, which changes based on what's being watched in your country on any given day. But the streaming giant has been pushed to get a little more open with its ratings (which shouldn't be confused with terrestrial TV numbers, as the metrics are different), so new countdowns are being shared each week.

When it comes to what we're currently watching, Supacell – which our review described as Top Boy meets Misfits (and so much more) is still enjoying a spot in the UK top 10, after storming both the global and the UK charts for weeks. It's no real surprise that we've just had season-two renewal news. Elsewhere, Netflix's Simone Biles documentary is still popping up in the charts off the back of her success at the 2024 Olympics.

Current trends aside, Netflix's most-watched series of all time can be hard to crack. It's decided by a combination of 'hours viewed' and 'views' overall. Wednesday's viral debut season has been sitting pretty at number one in the English-language category for quite some time. Squid Game, just as much of a cultural phenomenon, also dominates the non-English language chart and actually surpasses the Jenna Ortega-fronted Addams Family reboot when it comes to these numbers.

Harlen Coben's most recent hit – Fool Me Once, starring Michelle Keegan in the leading role of Maya Stern – managed to climb its way into the chart earlier this year, too. The murder-mystery thriller knocked Queen Charlotte out of the Top 10 and has even overtaken Henry Cavill's premiere in The Witcher as well as the second season of Bridgerton.

We also had another new entry for 2024, with Richard Gadd's global hit Baby Reindeer knocking The Witcher out of the most-watched chart entirely. But that was short-lived, as Bridgerton season three's final numbers actually overtook the UK limited series, ensuring its place at number 10 in the most-watched chart. What's more, Bridgerton's Penelope and Colin season has continued its climb, overtaking The Night Agent to land at number six in Netflix's list of its most popular shows ever.
