Jared Fredenburg couldn’t be happier with his young QB heading into the President Bowl
Brody Schafer has stepped right in for his older brother as a Sophomore
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -We heard from all four of the coaches last night regarding their excitement for playing in the big games Saturday in the Presidents Bowl.
The Lincoln Patriots are the team that people were sure about this year after losing so many players from their dynamic squad that went unbeaten last year.
Ironically it’s Tate Schafer’s younger brother Brody who’s stepped in at quarterback as a sophomore and is playing the same way his older brother did at that stage of his career.
Lincoln FB Coach Jared Fredenburg says, “There’s just something about Brody too like Tate when he’s that young but he doesn’t get rattled. And it was really evident in last week’s game at O’Gorman. That little sucker threw for like 318 yards and he was 26 for 30 against OG at O’Gorman. And so that really tells you the moxie that he has.”
The Jefferson Cavaliers take on Washington in the first game. Vince Benedetto’s squad has looked very impressive in a pair of wins to open the season.
