00:05 Hello, welcome to Paris.
00:07 Today I'm in France, but not just anywhere in France, Paris, France.
00:12 And we're going to be taking a look at five different Parisian hotels,
00:15 at five different points points, at five different neighborhoods,
00:18 and giving you an idea of where you should be staying on your next trip to the City of Lights.
00:22 So, let's go take a look.
00:23 [MUSIC]
00:32 Okay, first hotel on our little tour of Paris.
00:36 It's a new property called Hotel Paradiso,
00:39 and it also happens to be the most affordable one on our list.
00:43 Now, the thing that I'm most excited about is also one of the most unique things about this hotel.
00:48 It is a cinema-themed hotel.
00:51 There are projectors in the room so you can watch movies right from bed.
00:55 There's movie posters throughout the hotel,
00:57 and you can order popcorn from room service.
01:01 How cool.
01:02 There's also a small cafe downstairs, and a rooftop bar complete with a movie screen.
01:06 However, the location isn't for everyone.
01:09 I really enjoyed being close to Gare Lyon and some really beautiful parks.
01:13 However, it is a little far from many of the main attractions like the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre.
01:18 That said, the rooms themselves are pretty spacious, comfortable.
01:22 The staff is super friendly, and I would highly recommend this hotel for anybody on a budget,
01:26 and especially if you love film and cinema.
01:29 This is just such a fun place for that.
01:31 [MUSIC]
01:34 Okay, next we are transporting ourselves to the Roaring Twenties with a stay at Hotel Rocher-Choix.
01:40 We're going up a bit in price here, but we're also upgrading a lot in location.
01:45 This hotel is in the Pigalle neighborhood, which is right near Montmartre.
01:49 The building itself is from the 1920s.
01:52 It was recently updated in 2020, but worry not.
01:55 All of that historic bohemian charm is still there.
01:59 They've even reopened this historic dance hall down in the basement
02:03 that was a super popular place to go out and dance and party in the 1930s.
02:08 In addition, they also have a brasserie that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner,
02:12 and a really cool rooftop bar that has beautiful views of the Sacré-Cœur.
02:17 That said, the rooms were on the small side, and the electricity was a bit dubious,
02:24 but I think that's okay if you're looking for a really lively and bohemian scene here next to Montmartre.
02:31 [MUSIC]
02:33 So this next hotel I'm going to show you isn't a hotel at all.
02:36 It's a fully serviced apartment designed for travelers.
02:40 The place that I'm staying in is a two-bedroom,
02:43 but they also have smaller studio and one-bedrooms as well for a little bit of a lower price.
02:48 This place is owned and run by a company called Edgar Suites,
02:51 which was started by two brothers, two Parisian brothers, who really know the city super well.
02:56 They have several buildings throughout the city,
02:58 each of which are incredibly beautiful and in these amazing locations.
03:03 This particular one is in the first arrondissement, super close to the Louvre.
03:07 It's about a 10-minute walk away.
03:09 It's a great location, but it's also a beautiful design for its space.
03:15 Think of it like where your cool architect friend would go on vacation.
03:19 But more than that, their apartments are very professionally managed.
03:23 They have a virtual concierge on WhatsApp.
03:27 They provide airport transfers, luggage storage,
03:30 and it just feels a lot more like a hotel than just some random vacation rental
03:35 because of those additional amenities.
03:38 Overall, this is the place I would recommend if you are staying for longer
03:41 or just want to kind of feel like you're living the vie Parisienne.
03:45 Now, before I forget, there's actually one thing that I definitely want to show you
03:52 because this apartment used to be a museum and it is located in a 17th-century building,
04:01 which I know it doesn't really look like it right here where I am right now,
04:05 but let me show you where it does look like that.
04:08 We are back in the 11th arrondissement with a stay at a hotel called Maison Bourget.
04:29 It's a five-star property that is located in a building that used to be a washing machine factory of all things.
04:36 These days, it's a hotel, obviously, and it's very luxurious.
04:41 At the same time, it's not stuffy or uptight. It's actually very youthful and fresh.
04:46 There's even this beautiful garden-like restaurant and bar down on the first floor.
04:51 For the rooms, they're spacious, they're comfortable, and can we talk about this bathtub?
04:57 On site, we also have an indoor sauna and swimming pool, and we haven't even talked about the location yet.
05:05 It is right on the edge of the Le Marais neighborhood, and there's tons of bars, restaurants, and nightlife right outside.
05:12 Overall, I'd highly recommend this hotel for couples or somebody who just wants to experience a little bit of trendy luxury
05:19 and be right in the center of a lot of Paris's best nightlife, food, and drinks.
05:25 I mean, what more can you want?
05:27 Okay, we are at our final hotel of our tour here in Paris, and we're going out with a bang.
05:37 This one is a more-than-five-star property located in the 8th arrondissement near the Champs-Élysées in Arc de Triomphe.
05:45 Its name is Le Royaume-Mont-Sault-Raffles Paris.
05:48 It used to be a convent before it was transformed into a hotel in the 1930s.
05:52 As you can imagine, it's the most expensive hotel on our list, with starting rates at a little over €1,200 per night.
06:01 But for that price, you are getting a beyond-five-star experience.
06:05 In fact, this is considered a palace hotel, which is a special designation of hotels here in Paris that are just ultra-luxurious.
06:13 For example, rooms come with an enormous walk-in closet, they have marble bathrooms, plush bathrobes, toiletries for French brand Clarence,
06:23 and they even have a personal butler for guests.
06:26 But it doesn't stop there.
06:27 On site, there's a bar amanche, there's a one-Michelin-star restaurant called Il Carpaccio,
06:33 there's a full-service spa, indoor swimming pool, and my favorite part, a brunch service so good that even local Parisians come here to eat.
06:40 That's truly saying something.
06:42 One unique thing about the Royal Monseau, though, especially among this category of palace hotels, is that it's truly a hotel for art lovers.
06:50 You're going to see paintings and sculptures throughout the property,
06:53 and in fact, the property itself is a work of art with a lot of really interesting design features.
06:58 There's even an art gallery on site and an art concierge.
07:01 They really embrace this.
07:02 I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for anybody who wants a super luxurious, pamper-yourself kind of Parisian experience.
07:11 It is an incredible, incredible hotel.
07:14 All right, so that ends our little hotel tour of Paris,
07:17 and here is a list of all the hotels that we visited, ranging from least to most expensive.
07:22 Now, I would recommend each and every one of these properties for different reasons.
07:27 Hotel Paradiso is an affordable, fun hotel.
07:30 Rochechamps has a very lively jazz-era party scene.
07:35 Maison Foguette is that laid-back luxury.
07:37 Edgar Suites is a group-friendly, fully-serviced apartment.
07:41 And then Le Royaume En Seau is that over-the-top luxury that everybody dreams of having in Paris.
07:46 Now, if this wasn't enough, we have a full list of our favorite hotels in Paris on afar.com,
07:51 and I will link to that in the description below.
07:53 Go check it out.
07:54 But in the meantime, we'd also love to hear from you.
07:56 Which of these hotels are you most likely to stay in, and are there any that you'd like to see a more in-depth tour of?
08:02 Let us know in the comments below, and thank you for watching.
08:05 Bon voyage!
