01:15 - Clearly, he had been in some kind of accident
01:17 when he was a baby.

01:20 - And then he was fighting so hard to walk
01:22 that his spine started accommodating it.
01:24 He was able to balance himself on two left legs.
01:28 Vets didn't even know what to say.
01:29 They were like, "I can't, there's nothing explains this."
01:32 Hey, buddy, buddy.
01:33 I don't think he had been in a house
01:34 with a lot of stairs before me.
01:36 Honey, honey.
01:37 Oh, my gosh, honey, honey.
01:39 I did stand there, waited patiently,
01:41 was ready to catch him if he fell,
01:43 but really wanted him to have faith in his body.
01:45 You wanna show everyone your new hip?
01:48 You got a new hip.
01:49 We had to get him a hip replacement surgery.
01:52 Thanks for my new hip, Kaylee.
01:54 Yeah, I'm still making her.
01:56 And the front paw, they thought, should be cut off.
02:00 And I was like, "I think he kinda uses it."
02:02 All we needed to do was get him to be able to lift it
02:05 just an inch so that it wouldn't drag on the ground.

02:10 And I was like, "I just think he can do it."
02:11 I believe that he can, I believe that he wants to,
02:13 and I believe that he understands what the goal is.
02:16 Okay, so doing his physical therapy is not easy.

02:22 'Cause he's so wily and wants to run around,
02:25 so I have to basically give him a treat
02:28 and then lay on him.

02:33 I'd watch him beat the odds every single day in front of me.
02:36 I saw this dog jump on beds, an impossible thing
02:39 he overcame on a daily basis.
02:42 Then he really did start to pull up that front paw.
02:46 It started to get higher and higher,
02:48 and he started building a little bit of muscle there,
02:50 and a little more, and a little more.
02:52 Magic Pony really taught me that there is an inexplicable,
02:57 invisible, magical element that can help us heal faster
03:02 and overcome obstacles that we never thought
03:04 were possible before.
03:05 He just taught me that it's time to enjoy your life.

03:11 I do have a foster dog who is very handicapped,
03:14 who just wants time.

03:24 I fostered Magic Pony for about two years.
03:29 I was so attached to him.
03:30 I was hoping I'd be able to keep him forever,
03:32 but because I have three other dogs,
03:35 it was just unfair for me to not give him
03:37 the home that he deserved.

03:48 Bree, the reason I knew right away
03:50 that she was his forever mom
03:54 is that she didn't pity him.
03:56 She was so excited.
03:58 It was almost like they'd been together forever.
04:01 And then she walked out and he just followed her.
04:03 Like got in the car and that was it.
04:04 And it was like, oh yeah,
04:05 that's exactly how that was supposed to happen.
04:08 So I am about to see Magic Pony for the first time
04:12 in almost a year.
04:14 We didn't really have a proper goodbye
04:16 'cause I just knew I was gonna be too sad,
04:18 but Bree lives in San Diego
04:20 and I was down here performing, doing standup,
04:23 and I was like, can I see Magic?
04:26 I'm gonna cry, I already feel it.
04:27 I think the most emotional moment was just when,
04:32 before I saw him actually,
04:34 before he even knew I was there,
04:35 watching them walk up and seeing him,
04:38 how happy he was.
04:40 He just lives by the beach with Bree,
04:42 who loves him so much.
