  • Each clip shows him taking a gasp of air before getting ready to speak
  • It was edited by his 27-year-old coworker, Teresa

A realtor who asked a Gen Z employee to edit an Instagram video for him has gone viral after he posted the very surprising end result.

Editor Teresa, 27, who did not reveal her last name, created the hilarious video for North Carolina real estate agency Pridemore Properties, where she has been an employee since February.

The video is made up of a compilation of clips that show realtor Mike Hege, 43, who is based in Charlotte, taking gasps of air before getting ready to speak.

The montage highlighted something known as the 'millennial pause,' which refers to the older generation taking a deep breath before they talk in videos.

'I asked my Gen Z employee to edit a video for me and she sent this back to me,' a text overlay on the video reads.

The clips show the realtor sucking in air as he stands in front of the house he is representing for sale.

Other parts show him touching up his hair and adjusting his stance as he prepares to speak.

It was shared to Pridemore Properties' Instagram page, and they jokingly put the location of the post as 'Mike's breathing.'

The humorous video compilation quickly went viral, gaining millions of views, 4.5 million likes, and 43,000 comments since it was posted last week.

Many viewers found the video entertaining, and the comment section was flooded with hilarious jokes about it.

One person cleverly wrote, 'Breathtakingly good,' while another asked, 'Do y'all sell asthma products, because this is riveting footage?'

'I'd buy any house based on solid breathing,' someone else joked.

'Me: "I want to by a house." Seller: "MHAA…HEEE…HMMM...MHIIII…"' a fourth comment read.

A fifth said: 'As a millennial, I'm upset *breaths heavily* as well.'

'Dang, leave some air for the rest of us,' a different user joked.

Another added: 'Tony Soprano if he sold houses.'

Some viewers even asked the company to give the editor a raise.

One person wrote: '4.4 million views - give that girl a raise.'

A second commented: 'Give her a raise.'

'Give her a raise because this 100 per cent caught my attention, far more than whatever you were going to say,' stated someone else.

'Your employee is a genius, and has a great sense of humor,' a different user praised.

Others defended the 'millennial pause,' with one commenter joking that they 'will not be shamed' for it.

Another said: 'As a millennial, this is the type of thing that will heal our generations and bring us together. Bravo.'

Mike spoke out about the video and the internet's reaction with BuzzFeed afterwards.

'There's a lot of canned content out there, and we did not want to make it about our business niche,' he said.

'We have done a lot of different content over the years, but what we thought was funny in the past, ended up being an epic flop, with little to no engagement.

'So, we thought, "Let's do something original and true to who we are." We like to provide value [information], be relatable, and have fun.'

He explained that while 'at first' she edited it as 'a joke,' he knew they had to share it with the rest of the world.

Mike added that he was in awe of the Gen Z staffer's creativity and had rewarded Teresa for the video's viral success.

He shared: 'She is a rockstar and has been with us since February. She has a unique pulse in creativity.

'We want the people to know that we have given her a bonus and a raise. You can plan on future videos that are educational, humorous and fun to watch.'

After the success of their first video, Mike and Teresa teamed up for a funny follow-up days later.

'My Gen Z editor wrote my script,' he wrote in it.

In the video, he used current popular slang words as he tried to describe some features of a house on the market.

'This listing will make you cry, scream, throw up, and fall to your knees in the Walmart parking lot,' he said.

'The kitchen ate and left no crumbs. The gas range is serving, I fear.'

While commenting on the home's fireplace, Mike said: 'Chat, this goes hard - no cap.'

When it came to the living room, he said: 'You're clinically delulu if you don't think this is fire.'

'OK rizzlers, this primary suite lives rent-free in my head,' he added of the bathroom.

While under the shower head, he hilariously shared: 'This would send a Victorian child into a coma.'

Next, from inside the walk-in closet, Mike told viewers: 'High key? Say less.'

'Buying this house would be a colossal W,' he concluded.

'Leave a skibidi in the comments if you're sigma enough.'

He comedically captioned the video: 'Guys, please tell me what I'm saying, because I have no idea.'
