Majdal Shams (in Arabic: Sun Tower), is a Druze village in
the Golan Heights. Under Israeli Government since 1967. Local
Council since 1982. Population: 8400 (2003) all Druze. Majdal
Shams is the highest community in Israel situated on the sloops
of Mount Hermon. It was established in the 18th century and played
a major role in the Druze revolt against the French in 1925, and
subsequently was destroyed in 1926.
I saw no symbols when I visited it, and the only source to the
emblem is the unclear one at www.cityindex.co.il [retrieved].
