The second season of the Japanese reality series Love Village dropped on Netflix in late 2024, and the no-frills Japanese dating series allowed a group of singles to get to know each other in a house they literally built together. Over the course of several weeks, four couples emerged. But are any of the Love Village Season 2 couples still together? Here's what we know so far.
While fans have sussed out the Instagram accounts of most of the Love Village season 2 participants, none of them have even posted about being on the show–much less whether or not they're still with their partners.
The season 2 finale was ultimately not very romantic when all was said and done. Two of the remaining villagers were rejected back to back; Sen-Nee, who rang the bell for Aroma at the end of the penultimate episode, asked if he would leave with her despite their 14-year age gap. Aroma sadly and politely turned her down, basically saying he didn't feel forward-thinking or financially responsible enough to get involved with an older woman with a daughter outside of the village. "I regret not being more proactive," he said. Aww! Then, the impulsive Gitarin told Ayakan he loved her before ringing the bell. Ayakan, who experienced a lot of emotions and body image triggers this season, couldn't leave the village with him, but his bravery did inspire her to bare her arms when the three remaining villages packed up and said goodbye. She didn't gain a boyfriend, but she did gain a lot of confidence.
Here are the four couples who did leave Love Village season 2 together:
Chii & Akipon
Are they currently following each other on IG: Yes!
Chii was the first to ring the bell, and left the village with Akipon in episode 5. The stage actress is in a new musical in Tokyo. But is she in a relationship? It's truly so hard to tell! Akipon has been posting about work as well, surprise surprise, and not dropping any hints either.
Pachi Yumi & Tanasan
Are they currently following each other on IG: No, but they are following some of the other participants.
This pair left in the penultimate episode. It's hard to tell via social media whether or not they're still together. They're both all business. Pachi Yumi posted herself working out. Tanasan posted recently on Instagram about bringing his lunch into work for the first time in a while, which could be a subtle hint at a life change. They're private people! They didn't even kiss on screen, which is rare for dating shows but totally valid. Pachi Yumi and Tanasan are also both in their 50s and new to this–fans shouldn't necessarily expect them to be all over social media.
Tamifull & Makio
Are they currently following each other on IG: Nope. Makio is only following three people actually, though one of them is Pachi Yumi.
This midseason couple left the village together in episode 13. Since the show started airing, Tamifull has traveled to Vietnam and Korea (and apologizes for not answering DMs in almost every IG post) and may be covering up Makio's face in some of her posts. Or, you know, she's protecting the privacy of a friend. That was also in November 2024. Anything could have happened just then. Makio's more recent posts definitely seem to be on the sad, moody side–unless I'm getting lost in translation.
Captain & Nino
Are they currently following each other on IG: Yes!
This couple got together in episode 15, to the temporary dismay of Ayakan. Are they still together? Again, there's barely any evidence on social media. Nino, who works as a model, has been posting on Instagram but hasn't even mentioned the show. (She posted a meal for two on her food blog, but said it was for a friend who helped her declutter. So cryptic!) Captain, a.k.a. Yoshi, has also been posting as usual, but there are some helpful answers in his comments. Someone asked him point blank if he and Nino were still together on a photo from September. The English translation of Yoshi's reply reads: "😅 I have a contract, and I can't tell you right now…."
Hopefully this "contract" means Netflix has something planned soon! A Japanese-only video on Netflix Japan's Youtube channel checked back in with Gitarin and Ayakan, who have kept up their friendship (yay!), so there may be more updates to come.
