Copyright Essentials: Myths Explained
There is a lot of misleading information out there about copyright. On September 18, 2024, the U.S. Copyright Office discussed what is and is not true when it comes to copyright. We want to make sure you have the facts and know where to go if you need more information.
In this webinar, the attendees learned about copyright basics and the Office’s functions and educational resources. The list of resources is available on our event page.
*Note: This was an updated version of our March Myths Explained webinar, back by popular demand.

About Copyright Office Events
Copyright Office events discuss the practical implications of copyright law in the twenty-first century, provide education and training to Copyright Office staff, and offer programming for the public. A wide range of invited speakers, including congressional leaders, authors and performers, company representatives, legal scholars, and Copyright Office staff, have delivered presentations on important issues. Topics include authorship, copyright registration, marketplace developments, fair use, international norm setting, copyright enforcement, and other issues related to copyright law in the digital age. Most of our lectures and events now take place online. If you have an idea for an event or would like us to speak at your event, please let us know using our Speaker Request Form.
