Cresset, a provider of integrated in silico solutions for drug discovery, has successfully completed its SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) Type 1 audit, achieving compliance with the leading industry standards for customer data security.
Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a SOC 2 information security standard is a report that validates controls relevant to security, availability, integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
Cresset is committed to providing mission-critical data to industries such as pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and agrochemical. Data integrity and security is a fundamental part of how Cresset manages user identity. SOC2 Type 1 compliance represents a commitment that secure systems and controls are maintained by the organization on an ongoing basis.
Commenting on the accreditation, Cresset’s Head of IT Iain Ronayne said: “Achieving SOC 2 Type 1 compliance is a powerful endorsement of the strength, resilience, and effectiveness of our IT infrastructure and security processes, which have been thoroughly audited and validated by independent experts."
Cresset were aided in achieving SOC 2 compliance by Kontain, a security advisory organization whose expertise in information security guided them through the process, from assessment to implementation of security controls.
The audit was completed with the help of Johanson Group LLP, a premier certification body helping organizations to obtain and maintain global compliance standards.
