PPG Industries’ coil and building products coatings group will exhibit its complete line of DURANAR fluoropolymer coatings, including infrared (IR)-reflective ULTRA-COOL and VARI-COOL products, at the 2015 Frame Building Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, Feb. 18-20.
Formulated with a proprietary 70-percent fluoropolymer resin, Duranar coatings provide outstanding aesthetics and exceptional performance for metal wall and roof panels, even in difficult agricultural and industrial environments. For cool roof and siding applications, Duranar ULTRA-Cool and color-shifting Duranar VARI-Cool coatings incorporate PPG’s exclusive IR-reflective pigment technology, which reduces air-conditioning-related energy use by deflecting solar heat away from buildings. Both products are available in dozens of light, medium and dark colors that meet cool roof performance criteria established by the LEED, ENERGY STAR and Cool Roof Rating Council programs.
PPG also will exhibit DURASTAR SMP (silicone-modified polyester) and next-generation DURAFORM BP (building product) polyester coatings. Durastar SMP coatings deliver long-lasting, value-oriented color and protection for metal panels, roofs, door frames, garage doors and other metal building components. Duraform BP coatings are re-engineered to optimize performance on building products using a proprietary hyper-branch polymer developed by PPG.
Because these polymers cluster in tighter formations than the linear polymers in conventional polyester coatings, they deliver higher solids, increased hardness and excellent flexibility to facilitate high-speed line application. Duraform BP coatings are formulated specifically for use on gutters, downspouts, flagpoles, metal fencing, awnings, metal doors and other building products fabricated from aluminum, cold-rolled steel, hot-dip galvanized steel and other substrates to provide excellent resistance to metal marking, staining and pressure-mottling.
