Anita Bhagwandas
Beauty Director
Anita Bhagwandas is Conde Nast Traveller's multi-award-winning beauty director, who oversees all the title's beauty and wellness coverage. After an early start in journalism, working for daily papers and national music titles at 15, she attended Cardiff University and now holds an MA in Journalism. Anita has written and edited for print and digital publications at Stylist, Marie Claire, Glamour and Women's Health. She's the author of the acclaimed nonfiction title UGLY: Why the world became beauty obsessed and how to break free, and her journalism has also been featured by The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Evening Standard, Vogue, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Allure and many more. Anita is passionate about global beauty cultures, uncovering new spa trends and trying cutting-edge wellness treatments. Anita's travel experience includes many trips to South India to explore her family heritage, attending classic car and rockabilly events in the US, exploring historic sites across Europe and sleuthing the globe for the world's best spas. When she's not trying to find the next big thing in beauty, she's likely reading about medieval fashion history, playing tennis to a mediocre level and scouring London's antique markets for that elusive final piece of her beloved Edwardian china tea set.
