Dom Nicastro is an award-winning journalist and radio personality based in Manchester, NH. He currently serves as editor-in-chief for Simpler Media Group's CMSWire covering customer experience and marketing. He manages the site’s day-to-day operations and Contributor program, including serving as a main host for CMSWire TV video interviews and planning and editing articles. Nicastro also serves as one of the main hosts on CMSWire’s CX Decoded podcast and has served as emcee and moderator for the company’s digital and in-person conferences. He began with Simpler Media Group as a reporter in August of 2013.
His journalism career in writing and editing in the pre-Web days and now digital media world spans over 23 years as of early 2023. He began his journalism career at Fuller Elementary School in Gloucester, Mass., where he wrote sports articles for the school's newsletter. He moved on to work for the Gillnetter, Gloucester High School's newspaper.
Nicastro studied journalism at Salem State College and served as sports editor and editor of the college's newspaper while playing baseball for the 1999 league champion team. Dom broke the single-season record for doubles his senior year (15) and hit the game-winning home run in the pivotal game against Bridgewater State that decided the league champion. Later that summer, he won the league’s Most Valuable Player and pitched two winning games in the championship series, leading Rockport to a win over Manchester in the 1999 Intertown Baseball League championship series. Dom coached his son Matthew in Swampscott Little League, winning two championships there, and served on the league's board of directors.
His first professional journalism gig was at the Daily Times Chronicle in Woburn, Mass., where he covered Reading High School hockey and Wakefield High School basketball. He returned to his hometown to work for the Gloucester Daily Times, serving as sports editor, city editor and editor in chief in the first part of the 21st Century.
He won 11 awards chosen by various New England press associations for writing and editing in his seven-year career at the Gloucester Daily Times. He won a 12th award as a reporter for the Marblehead Reporter for a feature on a local sports historian who had died. Awards included an expose on a paid youth basketball program, in which Dom served as project leader and editor. He also won awards for an article on violence in coaching and an article on a longtime coach’s final high school football speech to his team, in which Nicastro had been in the locker room to chronicle.
Nicastro later served in roles in B2B publishing at healthcare publishing company HCPro before arriving at Simpler Media Group and CMSWire in 2013, first serving as freelancer before starting full-time as a reporter in 2014. He maintained that role until moving into his current managing editor's role in February of 2022.
Dom also serves as co-host of a weekly sports podcast covering the North Shore and Merrimack Valley of the Bay State and Southern New Hampshire. The show, dubbed "Nic & Nick" and also featuring Gloucester Daily Times Sports Editor Nick Curcuru, began in 2013 on North Shore 1049 FM until the station was acquired in June of 2022. The show landed in podcast form on MSONewsports.com.

Dom lives and works out of his home-base in Manchester, New Hampshire, and spends most of his free time hanging out with his wife, Pamela, son, Matthew, and racks up plenty of outdoors time with his pup, Mackie. Nicastro served as a “statue-carrier” of St. Peter under the watch of his late father and namesake, who served as guardian of St. Peter in his hometown Gloucester’s annual St. Peter’s Fiesta.
