NEWBURY TWP., Ohio (WOIO) - A man suspected of driving drunk died Thursday evening after getting ejected from his car during a crash, according to state troopers.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the 35-year-old driver struck a ditch around 9:44 p.m. after traveling off the left side of Sperry Road in Newbury Township.

Troopers say the 2007 Honda Accord then went back across the right side of the roadway, which caused the driver to be ejected from the car.

The driver, identified as Kevin Toothman, of Chesterland, died at the scene, troopers say.

OSHP says a seat belt was not used at the time of the crash.
