3 KU football players are in top 100 in EA Sports’ ‘College Football 25,’ plus more news

LAWRENCE — EA Sports’ “College Football 25” video game has released its top 100 players, and three of them will be playing for the Kansas Jayhawks in 2024.

One is senior running back Devin Neal, the 42nd-ranked player with a 92 overall rating. His speed is 90, acceleration is 93, strength is 72, awareness is 90 and jump is 87. He is the seventh-best halfback in the game.

The second is senior cornerback Cobee Bryant, the 75th-ranked player with a 90 overall rating. His speed is 92, acceleration is 95, strength is 63, awareness is 90 and jump is 93. He is the 10th-best cornerback in the game.

The third is redshirt junior quarterback Jalon Daniels, the 79th-ranked player with a 90 overall rating. His speed is 88, acceleration is 90, strength is 73, awareness is 93 and jump is 85. He is the seventh-best quarterback in the game.

Kansas men’s basketball alumni team Mass Street will play Kansas State rivals

Prior to the start of The Basketball Tournament later this month, the Kansas men’s basketball’s alumni team Mass Street will match up with a rival. The Jayhawks will face Purple Reign, the Kansas State alumni team, in what’s being called the “Wheat State Summer Showdown.” The game will be July 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Johnson County Community College.

These 2 Jayhawks will represent KU on Big 12 Conference’s alumni council

The Big 12 Conference recently announced the formation of an alumni council, with two members for each of the league’s 16 teams. Kansas’ representation is the duo of Wayne Simien and Lynette Woodard. Simien, who played men’s basketball at KU, and Woodard, who played women’s basketball at KU, are two of the best athletes to ever compete for the Jayhawks.

Kansas baseball’s Dominic Voegele competes for USA’s collegiate national team

After starring during his first year with Kansas baseball, and earning multiple freshman All-America honors, pitcher Dominic Voegele added to his résumé during the summer. He competed with the United States’ collegiate national team on its summer league tour roster. The Big 12’s freshman of the year threw four innings without allowing a run, while striking out four batters as well, in a 2-1 win at the end of June against the Coastal Plain League Select team.

“It was an awesome experience being able to play on the Collegiate National Team and getting to compete with some of the best college baseball players in the country,” Voegele said in a KU release. “Having the opportunity to represent our country and KU was such an honor and something I would recommend to everyone that has the opportunity. I had a great time playing with Team USA and being around all the other guys. It is definitely something I look forward to next year and I hope I get another opportunity to represent our country!”
